I'm not sure the athleticxs stadium could host football to any senior level.  Its got a big stand (600 seats or so) but not much else.  It is very run down or at least it was when I saw my daughter compete there whilst trying to find out how we were getting on at hucknall on the last day of the conference north season

Enfield is one of the largest boroughs in London but it is full of Bottingham Hotsperms fans.
Yes, my Grandad used to live in Winchmore Hill, a mile or two from Enfield I think, and he was a Spurs fan. Although to be fair, he used to live in Wood Green.

My dad is from Winchmore Hill, he was spurs, his dad was Arsenal and his brother was Man United. I asked him about Enfield and he couldn't remember anyone who watched them.

I had a guy work for me once who when I replied "Altrincham" to "What team do you support?" regaled me with stories of the great Enfield team of the early 80's and waxed lyrical about their 4-1 win at Moss Lane less than a month before the trophy semi final.  I had seen Enfield win 7-0 at Barnet in the FA Cup earlier that season and thought I had seen the best non league team ever (yes, including our 77-81 team).

Our two legged victory over them to get to Wembley ranks right up there in our top 10 performances of all time - I had written us off before those two games, all the way through the first leg and even up to the last 15 minutes of the second leg.  Thank you Dougie Newton and Ronnie Ellis.  The Final against Runcorn was an anticlimax in comparison.
