Pardon my ignorance, but who on earth is he?

One of the mob who bet against his own team when playing for Stanley.

I hate to be negative but I am a bit disappointed we've signed him.

Thanks for the link. The Football League is basically off my radar, which no doubt explains my ignorance. I hope I may set eyes on him on Friday evening ...

Here's a very encouraging interview from earlier this year, in the sense that he defines his role in the team as a defensive one. Essentially hat we have been asking for - a defensive minded midfielder.

Lets have another look at his recent past 2 promotions from confrence and 1 from leauge 2 last year I think this could be a decent signing

Absolutely delighted with this signing! He really could be the difference.

Wait till the Dale lot get wind of this, you'll get a better idea.

On my head this one falls  :-\

He made a mistake a few years back but this shouldn't be held against him,let him do his talking on the pitch. I always thought he was a midfielder though, his profile says he's a right back? Does this mean Densmore will be played in his less effective position in midfield?

The story behind Peter Cavanaghs ban. Quite harsh in comparison to the others involved.

"80% of my job is to give some protection to the back 4". That'll do me.

Anyone any idea how you pronounce his surname? I very recently found out that one of my favourite bands, who have brothers with this surname, pronounce it to rhyme with "Havana" and not like Cav-an-argh as I always assumed...

Saw him play the first half of Rochdale v Southend on Good Friday as a right back. He was subbed at half time, which surprised me as he'd been one of the better performers in a Rochdale side who had a very bad day.

A couple of their fans who I was sitting with told me they thought he was better in front of the back four rather than actually part of it. He certainly demonstrated that early on tonight.

He'll need to get match fit, but once he does I think we've made a very shrewd signing.

With him playing 2 positions the logical thing for us to do is to play him were we need him and with dens being a very good right back cavanagh should play defensive mid it's what the team need

Great signing for Alty that.
Surprised he didn't get a league club, somewhere like Morecambe. You won't get many better Denise midfielders at L2 level.

A little unfortunate to have been released from here imo, certainly better than Altrincham.

Thanks for that link Joe, explains it well. I'd personally have been more annoyed if we didn't sign him for that if he was available rather than the fact we have.

Very pleased we have got him, will bring experience of a higher level to us and this club has been built on tough tackling scousers.  Can bring the younger lads on as well and seems versatile.

Welcome to the club.

Saw the game tonight, personally very impressed with both him and the side tonight.

Played very well tonight, some very good passing of the ball between all players, worked the ball very well tonight with a tidy performance and good movement all around.

For me, Griffin played well, Perry was useful up front and held the ball up well, Sean Williams was like a mad terrior all over the pitch, Cavanagh just slotted in as if we had been here for years - calm finish one on one with the keeper from Ryan after a u-turn beating of the offiside trap. The defenders appealed offisde to the linesman in front of me, and I heard him say no-way, he is on.

Substitutions made no difference to our style of play, enjoyed myself tonight and many positives for the season ahead for me!

"Denise midfielders" are something we've been short of for years.

This ties in very much with what the Accrington press said last night........very good player & great guy off the pitch. They were surprised that Rochdale released him & also that he hadn't signed for a League club.
