Not Good Enough At This Level
« on: January 28, 2023, 07:42:52 PM »

Of the players that played today I’ve put where I think we’d finish in the league with them in the team. Some of them just aren’t up to it unfortunately

Byrne - relegation battle
Welch-Hayes - playoffs
J Jones - bottom half
Baines - mid table
E Jones - mid table
Marriott - playoffs
Lundstram - playoffs
Kaja - bottom half
CCC - playoffs
Gyasi - bottom half
Hulme - relegation battle

Dinanga - bottom half
Pringle - mid table

Interesting way of looking at it.
I thought most of the assessments were pretty accurate, although a bit harsh on both Gyasi and Kaja. I thought the latter has  looked like a valuable acquisition if only he could attain full fitness,  and he did play 90 minutes today, so I hope he can build on from this,

I dont agree re Byrne.  He is very young as has the potential to get better and better.  This very same team with a couple of other players just went 10 unbeaten.

I also think we should give Michael Gyasi a chance, he did show some decent moves yesterday and I was impressed with his pace, but he does need time to settle in and get used to the team. Bit disappointed we have not seen the lad from MUFC yet, perhaps Tuesday night for both of these players. Lets see what they can do. Michael Gyasi needs more regular game time now but I am sure he will fit in well.

Yes, however, who did we play in that time, mostly midtable and a 2nd XI Wrexham.

If we're to be a PO side, we're going to have have 5/6 PO level players or players capable of those levels.

Its just about levels, Wrexham had a PO sqaud last seasonx and now have a League 2 sqaud.

We had an upper midtable sqaud going into Christmas, we're now a low table team. Untill we rebuild

Altrincham FC keep telling us about their ambition to progress up the divisions, but they seem determined to do it without their own players.

Correct.
The problem, as someone posted recently, is that the fans will find it increasingly difficult to support a team of players who belong to other clubs.
