Unfortunately, in the second half we were woeful as an attacking force!

Woeful is far too harsh.

We scored a goal and were unlucky not to score another in a period of sustained pressure midway through the second half, whilst after they scored Burton seemed to offer little.

Would probably keep Coburn in goal, although I'm not sure why he kept rolling the ball out instead of his usual kick up field.  And I can't believe how much better Munroe is since last season.  One of the best things to come out of the season so far is the Rose/Munroe partnership.

Apart from that magnificent Coburn save from Daryl Clare's free kick, obviously!

Obviously.

That's why I used the term 'offered little' and not 'offered nothing'.

How odd.

Why would anyone drop Coburn?

Maybe everyone's not prejudice and base it on performances

Jesus Christ, I've read it all now.

Richard Acton did very well when he came in, mainly thriving on confidence and a much improved back four in front of him.  I still can't quite erase the memory of Runcorn away though.

Stuart Coburn pulls off class save after class save.  You can't be serious can you?

Ecky/Jimmy - all Alty fans are entitled to their opinion. I was as pleased as anyone when Stu returned to the side and I also saw the reverse at Runcorn a few years back, but I defy anyone who suggests Acton deserved to be dropped. He was arguably our best player in EVERY match he played in and we can't just keep selecting Stu because he is Stu. I was stood behind the Alty goal for the first defensive cock up on Saturday and what was evident was the lack of confidence the defenders involved had in each other (including Stu).

I dont believe that Acton should have been dropped in the first place but now GH has shown his preference, I dont think hes going to change now. Dont think Stu deserves to be dropped at the moment - just never thought he should have come back in. I am a huge fan of both but sometimes fans (including me) live in the past a little and the GK jersey should have been Actons to lose and I dont think he did any wrong. If anything, its a good debate to have as they are both quality.

Quite.

However some of them are wrong.

I don't think Coburn is as perfect as is often made out. His kicking can be wayward and he does have a tendancy to go a-roaming/run out willy nilly. Yes, he's a good shot stopper and he's saved us a number of times, but he's not infallible :)

I see having an opinion has earnt me some Peakes  ::) <sigh>

Sorry, I forgot that we all had to agree... Coburn is completely faultless, GH is a tactical genius, Joe O'Neill is player of the season.. anything else I've forgotten?  ::)
