No, that was actually Dave Martindale, who was described as being: "Truly dreadful" by Brian Flynn in the Kingdom Come book published in 1995. 

Mind you, I did see Furnival in an Alty shirt and he was truly abysmal.

Dootson's performance genuinely was the worst performance from a keeper i have ever seen in my life thinking on. not just for THAT goal. missed punches, dropped balls, terrible positioning. the fact he got paid is beyond belief, we got rid yet?

The list of poor outfield players is truly endless. My peak attendance of alty matches was unfortunately when we were at our most gash! Ive seen some truly awful performences, none worse than the criminal attempt at playing up front by Darren Royle in several matches including a 4-0 drubbing at Guiseley.

I love this 'truely awefull' description of a player it always makes me smile, no doubt though having to watch some of these players was as bad as watching twiss thats painful!
