I've always found Dootson to be an average keeper, certainly not a disaster, but his reaction to the fans behind the Chequers goal against Bamber Bridge back in the day still make me riled, but perhaps I don't forget and should move on.

for a third time- how many first team games did they manage between them?

Graham Jones - centre half signed from Runcorn in 86. Thought he was Mark Lawrenson. He wasn't
Robert Trees - clueless
Darren Royle - the word "lumbering" was made for him
Brian Kilcline - to be fair, he was well past his sell by date when we signed him but he was so bad he retired for good after a few games
Paul Round - 81-82 player who came to the club with a good reputation. Left it in the dressing room.
Andy Dibble - some horrific performances
Eddie Murray - late 80s, most unintelligent looking player I ever saw at Alty - and yes I did see Danny McGoona play
John Wood - Terrible goalkeeper from 75/76

Dick "Teflon" Johnson was pretty bad, but nowhere near as appalling as John Wood, or Peter Frankish.

Obvious names missing from that squad for me are Jason van Blerk and Adam Farley.
