15 Dec 2008 - PRESS RELEASE

With the Credit crunch and Christmas costs hitting families and businesses all over the region Boreham Wood Football Club has decided to act in a positive fashion to give local people value for money for the remainder of this Season, as an early Christmas Present.
Wood’s Community Coaches have contacted all eleven Local Junior Schools and asked them to inform every child that attends their School, that they can claim a “FREE” Season Ticket from the Club for every home Boreham Wood League game for the remainder of the Season. All children can enjoy an exciting game of football, and get behind their local team, as the Club hopefully makes a push for the Play-offs.
The Football Club has also decided to slash admission prices for every other price category whether Adult or OAP to just £5.00 per game, making Boreham Wood F.C. the cheapest Club at levels Three and Four in the whole of Non-League. The Football Club has also notified Borehamwood and Elstree Times to let it be known that anyone who served or is actively serving in the British Armed Forces will also be eligible for a Free Season Ticket.
A Club Spokesman said “We’re acutely aware it’s not easy at present for people to make ends meet, so if we can help in some small way then we will! As for our fantastic Armed Forces, well for those men and women who put their lives on the line to serve our Country, I’m sure you all agree they deserve our heartfelt thanks for the jobs they do and have done. It’s our privilege if they come to watch us! As for local kids and families we just hope they take up the offer as it’s great for everybody.”
The Club’s offer comes into effect immediately so anyone interested can ring the Club on 020- 8953 5716 and ask for Billy, Luke or Mario if they wish to process their application. They will need 2 passport sized photographs. It will take fifteen minutes to complete each application... So please ring ahead. The Community Football Office opens from 10 am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

Just creating a bit of publicity by the sounds of it.

Even if so, it is still a fanstastic gesture.

It is a fantastic gesture by the club at a time when they will be needing the money as well.
