What has happened to all the players from the youth team last year. Where are most of them playing now. There was so much promise about these players and now nobody hears anything of them. Is there a club which we feed them to or do they just get released to do their own thing??

Maybe gh doesn't play them because they are not good enough. Are there any rejected youngers playing at a higher level than Conference?

I think that it is unreasonable to expect anyone who is not exceptional to be able to make the step straight up from Youth team football to the Blue Square National. If they were that exceptional we probably wouldn't have them anyway.

Without a Reserve Team there is no way for the Youth teamers to gain that extra experience and play against the sort of players they may encounter in the BSP. In fact without that step we will probably not even be able to retain our better youth players who want to make that step up.

However we don't have a reserve team and it doesn't seem that we're gonna have one so we'll just have to watch all our best prospects walk away free and make money for someone else when they get signed up

Most of that is bang on. GH mentioned at a fans forum that some of the more promising ones wanted lots of football straight away and he wouldnt promise them that. Suggested they went to Abbey Hey/Trafford etc for football there and they would be welcomed back if he felt they were good enough. I think only Dominic Lillie followed this route completeely, the rest of them thinking they were getting fobbed off.

Both Big Manchester teams prove that if you have players who come through the youth teams they know exactly what the club means and play with more passion and get the other players up for it unlike some of ours that only raise their games when playing big teams

Left field idea: have we ever tried to form some sort of agreement with one of the local clubs so that we can farm youths to the clubs whilst keeping their registration; some sort of feeder club idea?
