Alty 1-2 Woking

This is going to be a tough game and Woking haven't had a midweek game either.

A training match isn't really the same, though, is it. I appreciate they got 90 minutes under their belt, but they'll be sh*tloads fresher than us after our "backs to the wall" performance at Grimsby.

I should imagine they were allowed unlimited subs etc.

I'm convinced somebody from Woking compiled the fixtures. We go to Grimsby, they play a soft shoe shuffle training game......and later we have to go all the way down to darkest Surrey on a Tuesday evening. Frankly it sucks.

I'd normally give us a shout, but in the circumstances I fear we'll lose.

0-2 (Sole, Rendell) Attendance 1192

Scott Leather to completely back-pocket Scott Rendell. Damian Reeves to find his shooting boots again. Adam Griffin to be the best player on the pitch.

But we'll draw this. 1-1.

That was a very tired looking performance. Five games in fifteen days taking their toll perhaps.

I agree, players looked just a tick behind the beat today after recent exertions.

Still, when it was still 0-0 at half time, and they had the goal disallowed just after the break, I began to wonder if they were going to have one of those "travesty" games. Alas, wasn't to be, and they could have scored into double figures. The best team at Moss Lane this season IMO.

And Stuart Coburn, if you are reading, well played since Welling.

I promise I'm not being churlish in defeat but I don't think you can say Woking were the best team we've seen because Altrincham in the second half were about as bad as we could get. The goals conceded you'd be disappointed to let in in a pre-season friendly. Woking wasted a lot of balls with wayward passes going out for throw ins, and their finishing first half was poor. First and second goal (and the disallowed one) they were allowed to walk in, and by the time the third went in we only had nine on the pitch with Damien Reeves playing left full back.

We didn't come out in the second half sadly maybe tired ?

Don't forget the lawrie chance and the two square on free kicks in the first half, we could have had this game and they are 2nd in the league, much improved

We were game against a very good team but looked tired if they are semi pro the pro sides are missing a trick easily the fastest side we've met that iv seen this season

Exactly, they were slick and very organised and strong. They shrugged us off a few times. No disgrace in the result IMO

I expected Woking to be the best team we've played and they were. No disgrace at all on our part, especially as we matched them for 50 odd minutes. Special mention to Stuart, who was great again. It was the most obvious sending off I've ever seen, but we'd have lost anyway. The next two games are huge, but I think we are good enough to stay up.

Woking are still available at 10-1 with Coral to win the League (a quarter the odds 1-2-3).

I've invested £10 each way today.....even a top 3 finish paying 5-2 ? MUST be worth a punt !
