Duncan returns to action

Came on at Preston as a 64th minute sub for Sunderland yesterday. Good to see him back.

If he comes back flying there's no reason someone won't splash £5million on him in January with the current prices flying around which would net us a nice windfall.

8 million  plus isnt out of the question if players like Scott Hogan go for 15 million

Is it known what the sell on clause Is? If there is one?

It would be great if we have a clause, perhaps the supporters liaison can discuss with the club to get some kind of answer?

I suspect it would be an interesting factor in the politics of our club ownership.

I've heard a rumour it's 20% but this has never been confirmed.

20% seems very high, I'd be surprised if it is as high as that.

Sell ons tend to be higher when the original fee is lower. I doubt they'll sell him in January since they'll have paid out a lot while he's been out of action. On the evidence of their league position, they'll need him to be a driving force in stopping their plummet towards League 1.

I am quite happy to ask the question, however I suspect that it is a matter between Sunderland and Altrincham.

These things are normally not allowed to be made public until after the fee incurring the sell-on clause has been paid.

In a nutshell, yes I'll ask, but I wouldn't hold your breath for an answer.

I guess it's just a case of knowing if there is any clause at all. I'm not looking for the details.

Well, I was informed a couple of years ago by the then Assistant Manager that there was indeed a sell-on clause involved in Duncan's sale to Sunderland.  :)
