Yardstick fixtures after this weekends training camp
« on: July 31, 2011, 10:24:34 AM »

As enjoyable as preseason has been so far, for numerous reasons. Its going to be interesting to see how we fare in the coming fortnight against barrow and stockport, sides similar to ourselves. I still think we need another forward, but hopefully that will be resolved this week.Lets hope as many of us as possible get to these last two friendlies, because who knows, if we get better than expected crowds, coupled with the decent attendances weve seen so far, then who knows, we may have some budget for another player or so.

I also think this weekends training camp shows how professional this club is,we may have part time playing staff (mostly through their choice) but as a club we are the height of professionalism, and hopefullly that will reap the right rewards of the coming months

I'll be there (including the Stockport game)

Team bonding sessions can do nothing but Good IMHO and thought it a good idea...

the training camp is a great idea, lord knows how it is being financed but a grear way of getting the players together for an extended time.

I think Lee/whoever decided the fixtures got it right

Two bringing in some some money - city and Burnley
Two games we should win - Buxton and Trafford
And the two to the standard we're aiming for towards  the end

(woodley was off, and Tranmere was About Mark)

Team bonding off twitter suggests it was 2 sessions yesterday, night out, a session today

I think for us to win this league, moral will play a huge part. We may well lose games and these lads need to stkck together, and be ready to move on and win the week after . If the passion shown after darlo can be added then, we're in with a good shot

Burnley alone covered the playing budget, so presumably we made the same v city so that will cover the weekend?

we have a squad of 14 so far ? so are wee expecting another 2 or 3 to be signed before start of season surely a forward or 2 as no cover there currently ?

Squad 2011-12 (to be finalised)
Ryan BROWN
Nicky CLEE
Stuart COBURN
Anthony DANYLYK
Shaun DENSMORE
Adam FLYNN
Paul JONES
Robbie LAWTON
Mark LEES
Chris LYNCH
Simon RICHMAN
Damian REEVES
Brian SUMMERSKILL
Michael TWISS

Then most likely add in the young ex Oldham keeper
And a striker bringing us to 16 (I think)

Then youth players as back up

The friendlies were already agreed before Lee Sinnott became manager. Having said that, it was Lee's decision to cancel the Woodley game.

I agree with Hughesy, this next week should be a good indicator of where we're at as a team. Bring it on....

and Lee was right to cancel that game, too many in recent years have been against weaker opposition.

I don't think playing on their synthetic surface would have done us any good either.

Do any of the clubs in the BSN have synthetic sufaces - Not a great lover of them personally

I doubt the rules would allow a synthetic pitch in BSN........but could be wrong....I know Woodley cannot play FA Cup games at home

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.
