We got battered and it's a fair reflection of the game, but what it doesn't show is the performance Tom Hannigan put in. He was excellent for the most part and threw himself into loads of challenges. Had a great spirit to him.
"Sam" Hannigan, as he is bewilderingly known on the website stats page, is a shining beacon in a miserable sea of mediocrity. A few thoughts occur:
1. It might be polite to get our best player's name right on our own website.
2. NY signed him (and Sean Miller) which probably only goes to show that if you buy lots of lottery tickets one or two of your numbers will come up.
3. Any miraculous escape is entirely dependent on him staying healthy.
4. I believe he is on a 2-year contract - if so thank goodness for that.
5. It is not a good thing to be so dependent on one player's fitness.
6. Can anyone explain to me why he isn't team captain?
