3G pitches are the answer....with all day soccer Saturdays at all grounds....all ladies, reserve, youth leagues synched so to day we would have been away at oxford watching our ladies V theirs, our youth V theirs....then we all go to watch the football......

There's something in that idea that could work.  Junior level footy tournaments are very successful - all day footy, multiple teams etc.

I query the 3G pitches but understand that grass just wouldn't take the strain.

Winter break: No
3G pitches: maybe - only poss loss is if United still want to play at the JD.

Its people like you that are bringing the game into disrepute. How are we to know when there is going to be bad weather like this? Just leave it alone as its not going to happen any time soon. You're being the epitome of tedious with this non-stop raving about a bit of drizzle.

We tried a winter break three years ago.  We went to Sharm El Sheikh in the Feb school half term.  Apart form a five hour delay on the outbound flight it was bloody marvelous.  Does that count?

Weather we like it it or not  ;) there probebly will be a winter break that has to go all the way down the pyramid becuase of the fa cup for the qatar world cup to take place.

I dont mind winter games but most non league pitches just make the play unwatchable imo.

In a strange way we do end up with an enforced mini winter break most years whether we like it or not as noted above due to the pitch vs those in the premiership
