Title: Kings Lynn Match Thread
Post by: Alty Dave on February 09, 2022, 10:01:51 AM
It's a long trip to Lynn, I wonder if team will stay over?

Wonder how many supporters will make the trip?

Results were not favourable last night around us with Lynn seeming to find a bit of form along with Wealdstone.

I'm surmising bar injuries same line up as Woking match

Everyone else has played fewer games than we have and we have come to the point where the very least we need is a draw against Kings Lynn and a win vs Weymouth. Anything less would be extremely worrying.
Two wins would be fantastic and really ease the pressure. I certainly can't see us getting anything at borehamwood. (but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong).

Take a draw against lynn now i think

4 points from the next 2 will probably keep us up, but I think we'll lose at KL unfortunately - the defence is just too fragile.

Losing this would be catastrophic.  A draw wouldn't be ideal but I probably take it.

Assuming Hannigan won't be available, so I'm praying the back 4 not only don't any almighty bollocks and have a semblance of understanding between them.

                  Thompson

Morgan. Mullarkey. Cooper.  Jones

                  Marriott.  Moult.

   Kosylo.      Con-Clarke      Colclough

                      Hulme

Kings Lynne 2-2 Alty (Colclough, Pringle)

(Amended after brain fart)

Do you mean KL and Weymouth? Don't forget we've got borehamwood on Tuesday.

Kings Lynn are showing signs that they are up for a fight by beating Weymouth and getting a draw against Grimsby. Would bite your hand off for a draw. Is Hannigan back for this game?

Probably just psychologically trying to forget that particular fixture!

I agree Salford, draw is no bad result on Saturday, a win is possible but need to be at our best. Real 6 pointer. I'm sure both teams will be up for this. Not thinking of defeat. As I'm sure Parky and the lads aren't either.

On Tom, he was sat in the stand on Saturday and didn't do any type of warm up, so I would surmise he's out for a while.

I'll be honest, I've no idea what to expect. Could be a complete no show, could turn up and hammer them, could be a drab 0-0. 1-1 my prediction at a push.

a drab 0-0 would be encouraging from a defensive point of view

I’m not sure taking them on with 10 men from the start is the right tactic. Gives the impression of complacency rather than confidence

Brill! 😉

😂😂😂😂

Think we need a good sense of humour at the moment. Let's hope we are all laughing at tea time a week on Saturday and we've picked up seven points from the next three games

(I know. I can crack jokes too you know)

I’m going to this one, never been to this ground before, it’s a long haul from here so staying over.

Fancy us to win this one, as long as we don’t get off to a silly start conceding early.

Alty need to take points of Wealstone, Weymouth, Kings Lynn. Maidenhead and Weymouth to be sure of league survival. Failure to beat Kings Lynn this weekend will show the league position is entirely justified.

Sort of hoping that there is an almighty deluge of rain and the game is called off. There is no experience at the back and KL have improved greatly. Hope I'm wrong, but our 'defenders' on Saturday were dreadful and we can't keep relying on TT.

Taking points off Weymouth twice! Good idea but don’t think we are playing them more than once

Arrived about 45min ago. No rain and non forecast….. I’m sure the management has coached the defence well this week.. there is plenty of experience at the back… What they have to do is, cut out the individual errors and Concentrate…

Is this the same Alec Mudimu who used to play for Northwich Vics and is currently a member of the Zimbabwe national team?

When did we sign him?

A cold and windy afternoon in Kings Lynn but very heartwarming to watch the lads gain a very much needed 3 points against a poor opponent

Having said that, we did invite them on to us far too much in the second half but kept them out.

We played well in the first half and went in deservedly in front butttt. it should have been a 2 goal lead after we yet again failed to convert a penalty kick. Personally I would have given Dens the opportunity to take it but as it happens we didn’t get punished for missing it today..

Our two fullbacks played well today along with the rest of the back 4 and Tommo.

I hope Con-Clarke’s  injury isn’t as bad as it seemed. Disappointed by the KL chavs rejoicing in the fact that the bloke was stretchered off.

The league table does look a bit better tonight.

Kings Lynn came out to the Theme tune of The Great Escape.

I suggest they change that to an episode of Dads Army where Private Fraser cries out “We’re all Doomed”

Nicked from @eddymistra on Twitter, today was Altys 1220th game in top flight non league football since the APL was formed in 1979. This puts us level now with Northwich Vics for the most top flight games played. Kidderminster are 3rd with 1212 games, followed by Kettering and Woking.

Biggest 3 points we’ll get all season, Laurence’s HUGE, HUGE, HUUUUGE shout on RR at FT summed it up. I can only go off the radio and reports from lads who went but sounds like that was a fully deserved win & it could/should have been more. Now we really have to build on this & try & push for a finish as high up as possible.

Big 3 points. Was very nervous at the end but in truth we were probably never in real danger. Could and should have been a 3 or 4 nil game. Hopefully we have the confidence to go and put a run together. We know we are more than capable of matching anyone in this league on our day. COYR

As said on the coach home, any neutral watching was only seeing 1 winner, us.

I hope we never go there again, pain to get to.

Really should have been 3 or 4, the chances to Bury it.

We moved it well, Jordan playing probably at his level, and good see White AND Dens experience showing.

The New lad at the back did well, given he's not played (has trained for a while before international duty) and knew where to launch and when to leave for TT.

My MOTM would be Dens or Hulme, Colclough his usual class as per.

Let's home this is the start of a confidence run. Free hit Tuesday

KL is definitely not the worst place I've been to this season... some decent pubs around the ground and friendly fans. The ground itself was more than adequate too.

However, like a lot of clubs in this league they have some wannabe 10 year old hooligans and, agreed it is a hell of a trip to get there.

Went with a mate who lives down this way, a neutral. He agreed that we were comfortably the better side, didn't really feel like Lynn would score. I thought Hulme, Dens, Moult and Colclough were stand outs. I actually thought Cooper had a very poor first half but he improved after the break, and Mullarkey was reasonable throughout. Lynn were surprisingly passive given how big a game it was for them.

Late posting, but a good win, although should have been 3/4-0

Good to see dens and Jordan playing well. White did well coming back from injury. Ryan, was our saviour with a  good finish once he swapped to right wing.

They were poor, as was the pitch, but you can only beat what's in front of you. Thought there was about 60 of us all told, long trip, but worth it to see us gat a victory.

It does concern me that the established players are the one's showing up for matches and not the new recruits whom are supposed to be the future. Hopefully they will bed in and step up.

I'm still convinced we'll start to see a bit more from some of the newer recruits once a bit more bedded in.
