Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Alty fan
« on: July 23, 2022, 01:05:00 PM »
I love watching Lacie play football for Alty Girls Juniors. Our squad, the Black Kites are a fabulous group of girls, all keen to do well. I am so sorry if Erin has had negative comments. Think she may be the victim of someone unconnected with our club, all our fans are supportive and interested in how ALL our teams, adults and children alike. Since Lacie started playing, it has raised even more interest from me in girls football. They have the same keeness and desire to do well as the 1st team have. The girls are avid supporters of the 1st team too, they look up to both the adult girls team and the 1st team. They play for us because they are proud to represent the team.
You’re just talking good sense Steve. Anyone who doesn’t agree with your sentiments are living back in the dark ages. Unfortunately there are individuals who spend their lives in a misguided existence.

Time to start best 11.

Don't expect Mullarkey in mid field
Not right wing?

I don't suppose the miserable git concerned would remotely consider doing things that Erin takes on board, such as forking the pitch at half time when it's absolutely peeing down. No, I thought not.

Ignore the trolls Erin, we all respect you.
PLUS ONE 👍

Sadly though Erin has been trolled, not only by those who don't believe Women belong in football but also by an Alty Fan and regular contributor to this site who think she's getting too much undeserved credit and that there are other fans much more deserving of the attention
If a regular contributor to this site has a problem with women and football going together then I wouldn’t imagine they are a very enlightened or intelligent life form. WSL games feature some high quality players. It’s 2022 for goodness sake! Man up.

No refunds being granted, as dictated by the European Union. Neither Great Britain or the Isle of Man are in the EU, but there you go.

“ EU Regulation 1177/2010 concerning the rights of passengers when travelling by sea clearly states that we are not liable for costs incurred  from delays or cancellations caused by adverse weather or extraordinary circumstance beyond our control. Due to the delay to this sailing being caused by a medical emergency on board earlier in the day, which I am sure you will understand is beyond our control. Therefore, we would not be liable to pay any compensation.

Once again we apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused.”
we’ll at least an apology for the delay and inconvenience caused is of great comfort. Wonder who first coined that empty phrase?

Gribbin scored Alty 2nd at IOM. Commentators said it was class. He knows where the goal is and may be worth months contract. I wouldn’t go much further than that.

Chesterfield interested in Mullarkey?

If he's turned down a League 1 club, I'd consider it unlikely he'd move to a National League club with a revolving door squad policy in place.
A good friend of mine watches them home and away......says they have not yet met the valuation.....but they will !
Then the valuation isn’t high enough. Hope Toby wouldn’t want to go there TBH.

Callum Gribbin is an interesting one with plenty of ups and downs already during his still young career from Old Trafford to Stainton Park .  As Paul Scholes once said of him " he will either turn out to be a £100 million superstar or working at McDonalds " !   Hope it turns more towards the former than the latter .
Remember Gribbin when he was at United’s academy. He had oodles of talent on the ball and caught the eye. He did however seem to have very poor posture and a marked lack of pace compared to his peers. Bearing in mind he’s still only 23, and at Radcliffe, he always had an eye for goal. He’s passed the crossroads for top level football and taken the wrong direction but if his attitude is right he may do a job for us. Parky has the wherewithal to get inside his head and resurrect his career if anyone can.

Funny you mention the posture, I noticed that too. Very strange gait, didn't seem athletic at all.

If we're aiming to get that sort of luxury player back on track, I'd rather go for someone like Tom Walker who at least has a track record of first team football.
Good call. Think Parky will consider Gribbin and conclude he’s too much of a project. Walker probably needs less work on, if any.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Radio Robins on Radio Alty Tonight
« on: July 13, 2022, 05:16:50 AM »
Unfortunately I can't seem to find Raio Alty on Google play, has anyone else found it and if so where?

On the website, under the fixtures tab in the menu (three lines in the top left corner on my phone), there is a link to radio Alty. When I went on that I had to scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the 'listen live' button. I got One Direction when I tried it, but I'm hoping that it will be Radio Robins when the time comes...

Not sure if that is the way it is supposed to work, but it seemed to do the job on my Android phone.
Good spot. Yep, that works for me. Was this access announced anywhere and I missed it?

For those not nipping across to Douglas, I see that Wythenshawe Town host Warrington Town at 3pm on Saturday. A chance to catch up with 5 ex-Robins.
20 minute stroll for me. Wythy Town that is, not Douglas! Tempted to return. Liked the set up in the friendly though I'll be rooting for Warrington Alty.😁

Once again I refer you to the excellent website operated by the peerless Mr John Laidler. It might look like it’s from the 90’s but it has everything you need and all much quicker than either of the new sites have managed. I’m a big fan of function over form
Absolutely. The yunguns are more impressed by flashing lights and razamataz than content. It was forever thus.

Seen Macc are building a Fanzone.
Is it a cage where opposing fans can throw raw meat to them?
