Well, it's a lovely part of the world - but the idea of going to one of my boyhood haunts for a January weekend is best kept on the back burner for the next week or more ...

As I have said on here before, the FA is a dysfunctional organisation.

In the mid 1990s I was doing some tax work for Oxford City FC, and they reached the FA Vase Semi Final. Between first and second leg they signed a new player and faxed (fortunately) the FA to ask if he was eligible for the second leg, and received a faxed reply saying "yes". As we know from the Clayton McDonald situation re: Blyth, this is rubbish - as he had not been signed before the original date of the tie (not the match) he was ineligible. OCFC won, and opponents Belper appealed, calling a full FA hearing, at which the O.C.F.C. secretary took great delight in producing the FA's fax, and Belper's appeal was dismissed. Awful but not surprising to see that 21 years later the FA are still totally crap at applying their own rules, let alone asking Nantwich to play a home game v Lincoln at 4 days' notice. They are not fit to run anything, let alone a number of national cup competitions.

If we do make it to Sudbury in January, it would constitute Alty's first competitive fixture in Suffolk.

Only Norfolk and Cornwall to go then - if the above scenario unfolds...

Yes we mustn't forget we Haverhill to climb in beating Macclesfield before we play Sudbury. By the way, of all the forms of wit, puns are the Lowestoft them, so we should all be ashamed of ourselves ;D ;D ;D

I must get out more, because its Suffolkating in here.

In anticipation of impending complaints from our esteemed moderators, although Iken safely say that there are things we have all Dunwich we are ashamed of, I have learned my lesson Brightwell, and these are now l-Ips-wich will never utter another Suffolk town pun on this forum.

You can't get round the Suffolk ban simply by switching to Norfolk. Suffolk towns, we don't Needham. Market well, you will never find me producing a Suffolk town pun again, at Leiston this thread.

Perhaps he thought switching to Norfolk Woodbridge the gap between people who love puns and those who'd like to Banham.

"Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?"

Whilst I am, since the "Eye" joke, your greatest fan (and straight man), I wouldn't like you to think you can just Bungay couple of Suffolk towns into a post and get away with it, without us taking the Hinton this forum. You could easily get us both into Orford trouble with the moderators.  ;)

If a Suffolk golfer suffers from the Yips, which course of treatment should he take? :'(

Admirable as the wit Offton on display on this thread is, it is Hadleigh subtle, and it has become increasingly Clare that this matter Wilby regarded very seriously by the moderators once they Rede the latest posts and Cotton on to what is happening here.

Incidentally, in view of my repeated transgressions of the Suffolk ban, I tried to report my own post to the moderators, but the site told me I could not do this. What is a schizophrenic to do? Both of us are unanimous in asking this question.

It has been suggested that I should open another account so I can report each other's posts. In considering names I have rejected the following:

Mrs Robinson - gives totally the wrong gender idea

Scarborough Fair - wrong team

America - wrong country

The Boxer - haven't got a dog

The choice seems to lie between 2 names very appropriate to this season, namely:

April Come She Will

and

Slip Slidin' Away

which do we prefer?

I would get out more but I always wish I was Homeward Bound.
