Reminisces about his days as both an Altrincham FC supporter and player.

Sounds like he will be doing a fundraising event for the new Community Sports Hall in the near future.

Altrincham FC First Team / Green, Green Grass Of Home

I noticed these post match comments by the Lincoln City manager Gary Simpson in the Lincolnshire Echo:

"It was a game we needed to win if I am perfectly honest but I knew it would be difficult.

The pitch was difficult, you couldn’t run with the ball.

The grass was that long it was untrue.

We struggled to run with it."

It also crossed my mind that the J Davidson Stadium grass did seem longer than normal on Tuesday evening.

Anyone else get that impression?

And, before I get accused of haranguing Neil Brown, it's just an observation....

George Heslop will inevitably comprise 'The Ugly'.

Three fire engines currently outside the ground.

Acrid smoke billowing down Moss Lane towards the town and police wearing smoke masks are diverting traffic.

It's not exactly Steve McQueen in The Towering Inferno but it's still managed to excite the locals....!
