Voluntary relegation after the wealthy family have bailed out every penny , sad but not surprised I just feel sorry for the fans
-
To be fair those same fans enjoyed promotion challenges and success at Wembley during that time. It works both ways.
-
Sorry for the fans? Any success NFU is down to the management regime which has just withdrawn their cash. More like they couldn't believe their luck that a club akin to Trafford climbed the heights they did.
-
This is a shame but another sorry non league tale...
There must be a player or two we could approach - and I know some believe a mid table Conf North club have nothing to offer. But do remember when we finished 8th in the conf north we had 6 of our current squad in the team (Coburn, Densmore, Clee, Lawrie, Richman and Reeves) as well as Redshaw and Watmore. And Ferriby won the trophy and were in the playoffs last year...
-
Inevitable......
Hopefully they will survive as a club but sink back to their natural level.....
-
People who buy football clubs should have to pass a delusionality test.
-
st juste(i think, winger) and jarman would be welcome additions to our squad

is it? Ferriby had some good times and may now return to their natural level - hardly a sorry tale
Surely I happy tale, to have been able to have their moment. Most clubs just dream and snipe at those that can
-
A goodwin for you sir

St. Juste certainly would.
There is a statement on their club website that doens't mention taking voluntary relegation, but does mention finances etc. It goes to show thet you need a fan base, it's not sustainable to rely on just one source of 'sugar daddy' money.
-
Turns out Jarman has signed for gainsborough. good job they could afford his 700 quid a week wages
-
Very much dought he can demand that now after a year on the bench decent player though
-
It's amazing we have a quality manager who is happy to commute 100 or so miles never mind previously overpaid mercenaries to do the same. Be glad for what we have, there will surely be more local changes over the summer.
-
Bit harsh calling players mercenaries they have family's to support in most cases and I wasn't greatfull for what we have yesterday I travelled 200 miles spent a lot of money on a team that didn't give a f**k

What fans? Their average gate is very low and yesterday's home attendance just over 400.

Prefer someone like Louis Moult from Wrexham!!

signed up for wrexham for next season
-
Looking at the Conf North top scorers, there must surely be a couple of avenues worth pursuing there?
Bogle is destined for L1 apparently
Southwell is refusing to sign a contract with Boston just like Ricky Miller last season
I assume Barrow and Fylde players are on a decent gig so let's rule them out
Oxford too far south (assuming most players are regionally based)
Adam Boyes at Guiseley has surely always been one worth pursuing
I suppose a lot depends on who comes up with Barrow - just out of interest when do we reckon the retained/released list will be done? A lot of clubs are very quick after the last game of the season
-
Might Tom Denton be a prospect for us?
-
Although Denton top scorer for them id say Kendall is a much better forward when I saw him when we were down Kendall looked good he also looked a lot better in the trophy final

Yep I agree it's probably going to have to be about more than just goals - James Dean has bagged 20 in the Conf North, and surely we want better than that?
Having said that, we do need to take the pressure off Damian a little bit - I did think George Donnelly would be a good foil for him, but he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo these days.
-
Turns out they're apparently staying put after all: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32556298
Bad news for Bae Colwyn.

That'll be music to my rear 😝

James Walshaw
Is he coming back???
-
Well according to a remark on the Harrogate forum, allegedly his parents to some fans he will not be staying at Harrogate. Now that's a very unconfirmed rumour I know, but it does open up speculation on where he might go if it true.
-
Walshaw's twitter says that he is expecting some good news next week. Would love to see him back in an Alty shirt.
-
Wouldn't be at all surprised if FC United have gone in for him.
-
He won't be coming back
-
He won't be coming back
especially as he would now have to go to Barrow ;D
-
Possibly sign for Guiseley or BPA but would be happy if he came back.

If Guiseley were to go up he would be travelling more and being away from his family, which is why he chose to leave us when we went up.
