Looks solid. 4 or 5 at the back?
-
Is Stu injured?
-
Apparently Piergianni is playing as a wing back so I would say it's 5 at the back.

-
2 down...
-
no comfort really.
East'bne 5 down.
-
This is beginning to look like it could be a rather bleak afternoon.
2-0 down and Barrow; Southport and Gateshead all winning at present.
-
Hayes & Yeading now 1-0 up at Histon.
-
We have to try and prevent a 5-0 if we can now...sorry if thats sounds negative but with the emotion at Harriers today a comeback is impossible I would say, even from just being sat here.
-
2-1 BAYNES!
-
GAME ON!
-
Well done lads, that keeps us right in it!

Carl Pidge sent off ???
-
For foul and abusive language according to Sky Sports...
-
Same on BBC SENT OFF: Altrincham, Piergianni, Foul & Abusive Language (45)
-
dootson saves penalty
-
Just when we were getting back in a bit.
How many games suspended will that be?
-
If it was for Insulting and Offensive Language he needs fining heavily
-
This sort of ridiculous red card is exactly what we don't need if we are to stay up. We simply haven't got a big enough squad to replace people who get sent of for what basically amounts to childish petulance.
Edit: if the red card was for a professional foul the above is obviously not applicable.
-
sent off for professional foul according to people at the game...
-
It's all happening there then.
-
Not much going on is there? Sure there isn't a season's highlights DVD on somewhere!
-
Poor decision according to foz, he won the ball according to some at the game, nothing to do with swearing
-
If it was for Insulting and Offensive Language he needs fining heavily
From Mister Laidlar:
"HT 2-1 referee has given a very controversial decision in sending off Piergianni for what looked a good tackle after an error by Young."
-
Poor decision according to foz, he won the ball according to some at the game, nothing to do with swearing
In all fairness, how would our fans (at the opposite end of the ground) know if he swore or not?
-
Well done to Doots for making a good save from the pen, by the way!
-
In all fairness how would our fans (if they are at the opoosite end of the ground) know whether he played the ball or fouled the player
-
According to my kiddy supporting mate our midfield woke up in the last 15 minutes, we were looking weak at both fullback positions before that. Never a sending off either. "Piergianni walks, penalty saved, justic done" was the exact text.
-
If your looking straight down a field you can see from 110 yards in a straight if someone has tackled cleanly
-
All I will say is that if it was a clear injustice, presumably we will appeal the decision and have the red card overturned.
-
Fair enough if that's come from the home end
-
If your looking straight down a field you can see from 110 yards in a straight if someone has tackled cleanly
So, playing devils advocate Pete, you can see clearly 110 yards but claim that somebody nearer couldn't see?
-
According to my kiddy supporting mate our midfield woke up in the last 15 minutes, we were looking weak at both fullback positions before that. Never a sending off either. "Piergianni walks, penalty saved, justic done" was the exact text.
if it was never a sending off, not really justice to be down to 10 men
-
I wonder how clearly the match video would support any appeal we may chose to make
-
Come on Alty, give it your best!
-
Well no, but less of an injustic than if they had scored from the penalty.
And phil, people closer did see it, and said it was never a foul. You just admitted that.
-
If your at an elevated position, and concentrating on the ball, rather than all thats around you aswell as the ball, then you have a better overview of the incident from the other end in my opinion. Here is a text Ive just recieved from the usually placid mr taylor ( the other one!)
" Ref has ruined the game now, Fantastic tackle from carl.Everyone was applauding it before he blew for a penalty,Our players and management are absolutely up in arms about it.Our heads will drop now, even their fans near us are saying it was a great tackle.Typical conference ref totally startled and then swayed by a very full home end baying for a penalty,f**king disgrace"
-
I know I did!
-
So what are you playing devils advocate about? The home fans saw a great challenge, the away fans saw a great challenge. The ref has ballsed it up. No arguments on that one.
-
easties are 6 down.
come on Alty - salvage a point come on
-
Clee has just missed an open goal
-
Reeves hits the post, FFS.........
-
from JL:
what a miss by Baynes- after great dribble from Clee, Reeves hits post and Baynes skies loose ball miles over from three yards!
-
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!
Come on lads, let's have an equaliser!
-
"Clee fires over from 4 yards after reeves skins our entire defence n his the post.all alty here."
-
Williams header cleared off line
Aaaaargh!
-
Kettering 1-1 Barrow

If today's referee is, indeed, Mr R J Martin of Weston-super-Mare, then here's a previous assessment of his, ahem, competence:
Water, water, everywhere...
By Nick Pullen on Apr 30, 08 10:47 AM
I KNOW you shouldn't criticise referees - but what was Mr R J Martin of Weston Super Mare thinking of when he started Halesowen Town's BGB Southern Premier play-off clash with Chippenham Town!
Heavy rain had fallen for some considerable time prior to the kick-off and it was plain to see the pitch was totally unplayable by 7-45 pm as large areas of surface water could be seen on the pitch.
This was made more apparant by the floodlights, where you could see the water shimmering in the reflection.
Nevertheless, Mr Martin, in his wisdom started the game and the farce commenced immediately when Halesowen goalkeeper Mark Osborn went down to smother a regulation through ball and promptly slid betyween 10 to 15 yards, taking the ball out of the area.
Technically, isn't that a handling offence!
With the ball splattering to a halt everytime it hit the surface, it was beyond my comprehension that the ref allowed the game to continue for 32 minutes before coming to his senses and calling a halt.
A check with the weather forecast would have told him that rain was predicted to fall until 11pm - so the situation was only going to get worse - not better.
But that wasn't the best of it. Stuart Pierpoint's header was clearly handled by Chippenham's Ross Adams who prevented it from going into the net.
Penalty and red card is the correct proceedure.
However, it became clear after several minutes of faffing around, that referee Martin had lost sight of who the culprit was.
After consultation with his linesman, Mr Martin duly awarded the penalty, but there was no sign of any card, red or yellow for that matter.
So there's your answer. Any defender who commits a similar crime -run and hide and you'll get away with it!
-
Stockport 1 up.
-
So what are you playing devils advocate about? The home fans saw a great challenge, the away fans saw a great challenge. The ref has ballsed it up. No arguments on that one.
My advocacy was based on the alleged visual capabilities of fans at the away end.
Now knowing that the home fans share express a similar view my advocacy becomes irrelevant
-
"Alty no 6 clears off line from blair's first tuch.still all alty, williams header off line by briggs.chaotic stuff from both defences."
-
Stockport 1 up.
They'll still need snookers even if they win today to avoid relegation.
-
Surely the scene is now set for Youngy to crash in a late equaliser?
Keep going Alty!
-
Stockport 1 up.

Loving that! :D :D
-
Eastbourne are relegated today.
They will stick with the manager out of sentiment, accept their fate and go down I reckon.
-
Twiss on with Reeves for the big finale !
C'mon Alty you can still do it !
-
74 Canham off , Gittins on and Joseph and Twiss on for Baynes and Lawton
-
Stockport 1 up.
They'll still need snookers even if they win today to avoid relegation.
I do`nt think you can get snookers at football
-
Come on lads, lets us for once get a late goal.

An equaliser from us wouldn't go down badly !
I think that was obvious..
-
2 late goals for us would help

Is this to be another nearly, nearly, but for the grace of the ref day?
COME ON ALTY
-
84 Kiddy clear off line from Twiss but offside
85 Beesley on for Reeves
-
And FGR must under no circumstances sack that Wacaday bloke who is manager. They must stick with him.. ;)
-
send fgr a beefburger
-
87 Alty hit the bar - then Joseph booked
its one of those days
-
Alty hit the bloody bar now

Any Alty fans facebook status-- Watching the ref, its all about him — at Aggborough
-
An equaliser for Histon and a Kettering second would be great now thanks.
BSBP: FT Kettering 1-1 Barrow

James Smith sent off
Foul and abusive language.
Edit: I'm guessing the press association just assume all our red cards are for foul & abusive language?
-
smith sent off
-
FFS Smithy
-
all over 2-1
-
unlucky Alty.
we won't go down playing like that,
-
James Smith sent off
Foul and abusive language.
from JL:
Smith sent off after raising arm - ref about to give a yellow then Smith pushed player away and shown red
-
stupid red by smith
-
If Smithy got sent off for violent conduct that's 3 matches (all home games as well!)
I presume Piergianni will serve a one match ban?
Big game on Tuesday night which we now have to play without two important players. The result I can take, but the red cards are highly annoying.
-
Smith deserves everything he gets if he raised his arm, stupid prat.
-
James Smith is a loose cannon, I am surprised this hasnt happened much more often.
-
Clearly in the last 2 league games Smithy unsettled, perhaps impact of Stockport interest that didn't ultimately materialise. A time out may get his immediate perspective back in to place.
-
By all accounts, Smith's indiscipline at Wrexham the other week could easily have resulted in him receiving a red card.
Demoted from the role as captain against Alsager Town in midweek - any connection at all to the aforementioned behaviour?
He really needs to get his act together.
-
What sticks in my throat the most is Kenny has been trying for months to strengthen our defence by bringing Youngy back. After one game we lose two defenders to suspensions!
I know we find it hard to compete in this league but my god we don't half make it difficult for ourselves at times!
Really angry at the moment.
-
Not a happy bunny....signing out....goodnight all
-
For advice on how to react to Smith's red card, see the attatched guide.

I'm not to down.
I feared we may get hammered today in a day when all went right for them.
To go two down, then go to ten men but keep on fighting is a good sign.
Of course points make prizes but all we can ask is that we give our best and I think we did that today by what I am told.
Can't comment really on the sendings off but thank God we have Youngy at least.
-
As as been said not too down about the result but Smith's barmy red card really doesn't help .
-
From following the posts today I will be suprised if we do not appeal against the first sending off. If we do, would this allow Piergianni to play on Tuesday?
-

Doubt there would be enough time?

Self selecting back 4 for Tuesday with the sendings-off and Densmore's injury :
Joseph Williams Young Brown
-
From following the posts today I will be suprised if we do not appeal against the first sending off. If we do, would this allow Piergianni to play on Tuesday?
I believe that we'd need the video to clearly and incontrovertibly prove, without even 1% doubt that the decision was wrong if we were to appeal successfully.
I think we could appeal and the ban would then be deferred until after the appeal date but we then run the risk of additional sanction should the FA consider it 'frivolous'
-
just back, played well today, ref was not very good. Smith red card just plain idiocy
-
Incredible game everything you could want from a game. But ref 'SHOCKING'

Phil .. Its bloody time some of these referees were videoed because some of them are absolute dross... I have heard the line that they have to learn somewhere etc but the BSP is not the place.
Forumites on here cannot be wrong all the time, some of them are simply appalling.

Ray
Every Refereeing performance in the BSBP is captured on video. Nobody is saying that this League is the place to learn, it patently isn't
It is understandable that spectators/supporters of any club will pick up on decisions which go against them and this may or may not 'colour' their perception of how capable or otherwise an official may or may not be.
I wasn't at Kiddy today so I cannot comment on any decision made by anyone so I wont but I would venture to suggest that there is nobody anywhere in the world of football, player, manager or official who is entirely faultless.
The higher up the leagues you go the better the officials (honestly) and the less errors they make. As an illustration, it would not be impossible for me to achieve the necessary level to be Assistant Referee at the level we hope not to be playing at next season (BS North)
I can also assure you that poor performance DOES result in demotion. There are two guys who Referee in the BSBP who were removed from the Premiership Line at the end of last season and one who was removed from the Football League middle.
Before I am accused of being one eyed or an apologist, I'm neither. I'm just answering the point you made
-
Appreciate the answer
Cheers
