« on: December 01, 2015, 05:54:26 PM »

Altrincham's appeal against Josh O'Keefe's sending off in Saturday's Vanarama National League game at Forest Green Rovers has been unsuccessful & the midfielder is suspended for three matches, starting with Sunday's Emirates FA Cup Second Round tie at Colchester.

its not I agree it wasn't a red but they won't overturn the incident because he did commit a fowl

Disagree....and I'm not sure exactly why you are so surprised and outraged.

That match video evidence served to exonerate Bennett whereas it was inconclusive regarding the O'Keefe incident.

The FGR player reacted like his leg had been broken, it was pretty obvious he was playing the ref.

Indeed having seen the incidents Bennett did not do anything wrong as for okeefe he committed a fowl regardless of the play acting

indeed but its not about the players reaction, but the actual tackle

And it was a poor tackle

You can say the conditions were bad, but Josh should have thought about that before he jumped in

No excuse I'm afraid

I know we like a good moan on this forum, BUT he was a very poor ref.
I would like to congratulate FG on their highlights!!!!
They never showed our stone wall pen in the first half, and a brilliant tackle in the second half by Scott.
A free kick was given, outrageous .
I did think that Luca was unfit, and short of match practice .

In fairness, for a few games we didn't even show opposition goals!

The appeal incidents were on BT and it proved to be correct to rescind the Bennett sending off and not enough evidence to change the okeefe decision so no complaints granted I think okeefe's was a yellow at worst but he committed a fowl,Bennett didn't

Bored of hearing about it now, both our players are dummies and should be fined for their inexcusable actions last week

We should be embarrassed by them instead of making excuses for them. They have let us all down

Win lose or draw at Colchester they have made it a lot tougher

For once I agree with Ham.

Luca has not only let himself down, but the rest of his team. He's let Scott down especially.

I could understand if it was late in the game and we were winning, but at 10 v 10 with a few minute remaining and player covering, not to mention the fact the game at 2-0 had probably gone.

It's a very poor decision from both an experienced CB, but also the vice captain (who was wearing the armband)

Josh on the other hand I have slightly more sympathy for.

However, if true about us pushing for the game to be on, I'm a little bemused. Our biggest game this decade, and perhaps in this century*, any other club would have said fair enough we'll take the rest.
