Heathcote has eyes on Histon

CUP fever has descended upon Moss Lane but amid the madness, one man remains unmoved - well, for the moment at least.

Although he is excited by the prospect of writing a new chapter in the club's proud FA Cup history, Graham Heathcote can't afford to get carried away just yet.

After all, he has the small matter of his club's Blue Square Premier survival bid to worry about first.

Speaking exclusively to Sam sport, he said: "What matters now is Histon and the Millwall take focus after Saturday.

"We are still embroiled in a massive fight to climb up the league and that has to be our priority.

"But our away form has been pretty good this season so we should be confident of being able to go down there and get something from the game.

"It's the complete reverse of previous seasons because our major problems are at home, so we'll have to look at ways to address that before we take on Millwall."

Alty's cup triumph at Kendal came at a cost.

A number of key players picked up knocks in Cumbria and midfield playmaker Gareth Whalley will be out for around three weeks after suffering a recurrence of his calf problem.

There are also doubts about Colin Little ahead of Saturday's trip to Histon, to add to existing injury casualties Val Owen and Colin Potts, although both Robbie Lawton and Joe O'Neill should be fit after coming through training on Tuesday night.
