I remember when Bradford were a league club. They were bottom of the old 4th division and the manager came out with a classic quote describing the problem as "we have no money to buy anyone and nobody good enough to sell". Good to see them on the way up after all these years.

One of my earliest games as an Alty fan was a NPL fixture against Park Avenue....the original club. They had some old ex league fans still then, first time I recall away fans chanting at Moss Lane. We won 2-1 I think.

If I'm not mistaken,that chap went on to become our player-manager! (he was ok too!) If I'm also not mistaken he was in charge when we won the NPL cup at Macc! *














*Having said that, I AM a bit of a fossil and my memory's starting to play tricks on me!
