Keith Prince on the left I think - Jean Prince to the right of "Sid"

The bear doesn't look happy - maybe he was a Runcorn fan who booked his place on the coach after the first leg of the semi final :D

I'm pretty certain that the chap who is standing to the right of Jean Prince as you look at the photograph is John Davison's father.

He used to sit near us in the Main Stand for many years when his son was playing for Alty.

29th April 1978: still one of the greatest days of my life!

Is the waving lady sat in the front row of the coach Jean Heathcote?

16 years old then, possibly at the time one of the top 5 days of my life, so so good. I remember diving off the coach at Wembley so excited, what a game, 2 up in 15 mins, Alty support so loud, Kingy getting the third and taking his shirt off, bouncing down the stairs on the way out,  laughing at the wannabee Leatherhead hoolies outside, party back in Sale, just one great day.

Possibly one of the best days of my life .... to some that may sound sad but you just had to be there , i wont bore people with the tales yet again but it was incredible from getting our picture taken at alty station (later to appear in the alty guardian)  to getting a bollocking of me mum on sunday morning because our front lawn was covered in tee off blocks from the golf links (is it still called the golf links and if so why)

It was right at the start of a great era for Alty and those of us there between 77 and 82 were truly blessed to enjoy
such fantastic times - but that day in April 78 was just the best ever from start to finish.

If only the cine film of the game highlights would turn up...

Won't it clash with your chosen fancy dress outfit at Hinckley on Saturday though?
