and I have not seen Alty get beaten since we played Bangor in the friendly when the Oz cricketers turned up....

A few thoughts on the Lewes game....

I did not see any of GH's gestures towards the Golf Road End, but I did see that not only he, but many people in the main & family stands were very upset & disturbed by the chants. It seems that it is not just the board that are behind Graham, but a good amount of fans, the players & people who work behind the scenes at the club.

It is worth noting that, not only did the players and management get a good reception from the fans by the main stand, but the players DID acknowledge the fans there.

I found the anti GH chants - lets just say - unfortunate, but I cannot comment fairly any more having not seen Graham's reaction.

It was a poor game, Alty were the better team and could/should have won by a greater margin. The biggest failings were not being able to pass to our own players and a lack of confidence.

The Mansfield game......

sitting behind GH I can see how he feels every error and missed pass. Even when the team were completely on top of Mansfield he was pushing and castigating the players at different times. It was not just a result the team needed, but also a performance. With the exception of too many wayward passes it was a performance of great endeavour and committment.

It is the first time I have seen some of the players 'live'.....

Stu - truly Englands No1
Densmore - very encouraging performances
Lane - solid & strong - lacked concentration opce or twice
McGregor & Young - rocks
Doughty - better than I expected from recent reports
Peyton - defensively solid, 100% effort - but the passing...!
Lawton - another 100%er - but lacks some quality
Danylik - impressive, but needs to build up his strength
Elam - class act
Little - seems to be reliving last years slow start, but signs of class
O'Neill - a tryer, but seems to lack something I cannot put my finger on.
Senior - we love him, I'm sure I saw him run between defenders' legs!
Meech - Just seems to be missing that final something

As this is from just 2 very different matches it is just a snapshot, but I believe we will be ok this season.

So does Jennifer!
