And why are Torquay, totally inneffective at this level and in absolute turmoil off the pitch, 7/1, and Boston, who may well be out of business before the end of the season at 20/1 when we're 25/1!

One of 2 reasons:

Either the  bookies/punters don't think Macc will be in the Conference next year - so not much point betting on them...
Or the simple fact that punters/bookies feel the other teams are better.

As much as I prefer the 2nd option, I feel the first reason is most likely.
