Sadly Jim, I think your right. I'll have to find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon.

Lee Sinnott and Neil Tolson weren't under contracts, as revealed by Lee Sinnott himself. There is no logical reason for giving him the job, though I wait for the Chairman to surprise us with one.

Incidentally, Wittons fans forum lasted 3 hours, ours is programmed to last 15 minutes and we are much bigger with a lot more to discuss I would suggest.

I very much doubt that they will be able to Brian.

To post some of the stuff they have under various guises of late I wonder how tenuous their connection with the real world is. They clearly don't have a Scooby about how a Football Club is run, that is all too apparent.

I would suggest that they actually aren't interested in reality, in facts, in how a Club runs day to day, not just on a Saturday or a Tuesday evening, not in the regulations which have to be abided by. Their sole interest is to snipe and belittle and criticise.

If they have any ideas (which they claim to have) then why the hell not approach "The Club" with said ideas?

ATS, I would suggest its you who aren't in the real world. Do you think everything is right with the club? Should we just accept the current situation, keep turning up week after week paying our money and keep quiet? I don't claim to have an ideas, I merely would like the club to be open with its supporters and do its best. What has regulations got to do with anything, there are regulations in all walks of life and like in any job you have to abide by them. Running a football club surely isn't any different and I have a better knowledge about this than you think. Who are the 'club' by the way?

I don't think they care which league we are in. They are happy building up the sports hall, using it as their own social club and keeping the club ticking over.
As unhappy as I am, I can't agree with this post. There are certainly a lot of things wrong (a lot that we're not party to I suspect) but I think apathy from the Board isn't part of the problem.

What do you think is then?

Seriously this sort of talk is getting really really boring now !

With a gate of 1000 people and no sugar daddy we're a conf north club, we escaped relegation about 4 times, bounced back up (with an extra push from DW money) and were ok 1st year and now we're back struggling and overspending.

I used to enjoy this forum but its getting destroyed at present.

Why do you think it is getting destroyed, because my opinion is different than yours? Why do we heed a sugar daddy to be respectful to supporters, strive to be as successful as we can be and not think that they are above the club and its supporters. We could have had a chance of staying up if we hadn't have appointed Tolson. Why have we only had 1 outside board member in 13 years?

And more importantly why don't you want the best for the club? This club has potential and the custodians should be striving to achieve that potential, at present I don't think that's happening which is shameful.

At what point have I said I dont want whats best for the club?
You're moaning about people who care about the club having an opinion, surely that's healthy?

I don't think, they do care, that's the point. The sports hall will be there regardless what league the team are in.

« on: April 13, 2016, 12:13:43 AM »
The blame rests fairly and squarely at the board, or more importantly the Chairman. He/they let Sinnott go on for so out ng, then made 2 awful decisions, firstly letting Sinnott go before the end of season and secondly by effectively not replacing him. We have also not looked visibly for investment and so not moved forward as a club. Bill Waterson's plan is what should have been implemented following last  year's successful season or the one before and the board/club may have become stale. New ideas desperately needed.

It was the Chairman's decision to give the job to a man with a poor managerial record, partly responsible for putting the current squad together and wasn't even sure if he could do the job. He gave his friend the job and we have gone backwards, because of blinded loyalty.

This situation is very much of Tolson's making alongside his dear friend.

Indeed, we'll never know. I'm sure the LMA will send you a list of out of work coaches and managers though. We could also list every out of work manager who has worked in Conf North and National and the odd one from league 2 in the last 3 years.

Neil took the Caretaker job because we didn't have a manager, it would have been easy for him to go as well. So he stays and gets criticised for doing so. In hindsight maybe the club should have made it clear that Lee left of his own accord instead of saying 'parted company' - just to appease some of the knob eds that come on this forum. Neil is doing the best he can with what he has got, so are the rest of the management. We all knew we needed 6 quality players at the beginning of last season but we didn't or more likely couldn't get them.
We know we need a fit Michael Rankine, Johnny King in midfield or a genuine fan to win the Lotto. In the meantime lets get behind the manager, players and club instead of pouring petrol on the relegation fire.

Neil Tolson didn't take the job out of charity for the club, he took it because he wanted it and because it was the next step in his coaching career. He was also offered it by his mate. As has been said before there would have been other people that could have stepped in if he had left.
I don't think the relegation fire needs any petrol, I think the manager and players are doing that for themselves.

The hospital is in Baguley so could that be why. The majority of Alty people under 35 would have been born in Wythenshawe but wouldn't class themselves as being from there.
