Putting the games on YouTube / club site

I will puut this Idea out there

We sell DVD's at £7.00 on eBay of the games - do many people buy the lesser games?

Would we not be better putting them on YouTube / club site and asking those who use the service to chuck in a donation in the paypal or a tad extra in the ht bucket- would this not raise more money than DVD's do (for most games)

we could still sell DVDs of the season - and individual games - simply take the games off the site in July...

Just a thought, - what do you guys think?

I thought of that ecky, but 27 min clips are on there so i thought thatd be long enough?- even if we put them on in halves two 27 minute should cover most of the vital part- i was thinking more an extended highlghts?

Could just have them on the site?

Asking people to honestly donate is not in reality going to raise much money. I'd suggest if anything that the games we lose in especially are advertised on the relevant clubs fora.

We'd struggle to fill 27 seconds from the Histon game.

One of the reasons the internet is so successful is because most of the content is free. Asking people to pay to watch youtube is probably against the rules and is unlikely to raise much, if anything. No club makes much on DVD sales of individual games unless it is a thrashing of a rival club.

Unless I'm mistaken, York post their match highlights on YouTube for subscribers only.

That Kidderminster video page was a third party subscription portal too

You could do it two ways:

You could paste goals/saves only in short clips, and maybe longer highlights for the hardcore

Any sort of clippage on youtube is essentially free advertising. If just one person saw a clip (or clips) and decided to come along to a real match, think of the potential extra income over a season from that one person.
Some people may even see the clips and decide to renew their vows with Alty.
