The whole idea of the FA Cup is to NOT give any team an advantage other than the luck of the draw. To seed the Premier League teams would reduce interest in the cup as there would be minimal chance of a lower league team getting any further than the 4th or 5th round.

What has reduced the popularity, if based on attendances, is the fannying around with kick off times due to/and the TV coverage.

There used to be a great sense of anticipation of the Monday lunchtime cup draw - that's all gone.

When they do the draw they insist in putting the numbers of the teams on the screen. That drives me fkn mad..

and as for teams knowing who they're playing in the next round IF they win a tie yet to be played drives me up the wall.

It's not what it was cos the FA tinkered with a classic format.

somebody recently said that footy was the worst administered major sport in this country.  Spot On.  It is.

I think if the BIG clubs were seeded, there would be more chance of a smaller club drawing one of them.

Look at this year....Manu v Liverpool in the 3rd Round.

That tie alone ruined 2 smaller teams the chances of a big pay day.

Replays should stay but perhaps only for the 1st & 2nd rounds, then when the big clubs come in at the 3rd round,
they can still focus on Europe & not worry about replays.

I remember when Liverpool played Arsenal in a semi final in the late 70's & i think it took 4 replays
before Arsenal won 1-0.

What is cocking things up is these STUPID international Friendlies because the FA bollocksed up on Wembley's costings
& are looking for as many England games as they can anywhere in the World so they can get some money back.

This Saturday is FA CUP 5th round day & we haven't even had the 4th Round replays yet due to that
Denmark International.
The weather can't be blamed for this , this time.

something still needs to be done as its clearly dying like the league cup, its ok slating all these ideas but not if he cant come up with one himself, it must evolve and unfortunatly the senior fa idiots have no idea what to do
