Have you any knowledge of the pubs in the area

Doesn't look like there's anything to write home about.

http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/areas/hednesford/staffordshire/

2014 CAMRA Good Beer Guide lists The Cross Keys on Hill Street. Five regular ales including Brain's Reverend James, Draught Bass, and Holden's Golden Glow. plus guest beers.

The licensee is apparently an ex-Hednesford player. Televised matches are shown.

Reverend James is a decent drop. Was a permanent fixture at my favourite watering hole at uni.

I'm fairly sure that is the pub that was right next to the old ground of the same name.

What a ground that was!!!!!!!

Spot on, Brian. The old ground was out the back of the Cross Keys Hotel.
