Another Football League disgrace
« on: April 22, 2011, 11:36:26 AM »

Plymouth Argyle (in Admin) offer 0.77 pence in the pound to their creditors .......they owe almost £18M........more incredible financial control from the Football League

Interesting to see what happens if they go bust !

Plymouth away on a Tuesday night?

I know they wouldn't come in the BSP - or if they did we wouldn't be here

But I'd love to play Plymouth - theyre the 3rd team  I'd like an FA cup game against (other 2 being Chelsea and arsenal)

You beat me to it over Plymouth. They have 240 unsecured Creditors who will be offered 0.77 p in the pound and that included owing Southport £50 for Criag Noone, also £8000 to St Johns Ambulance. They actually owe £17.7 million, their backromm and admin staff have not been paid since January and they have been told they might get something in May,but it willonly be a small ammount. This club went into Admin, about 3 moths ago and were docked 10 points for it.So far they only have 1 person interseted in taking over the club. The secured creditons include a loan company.May 4th is the date for the creditors meeting in which 75% have to approve the 0.77 that is on offer, less tha 1 pence for each £1 owed.

It's almost easier to ask who isn't - see earlier depressing threads.

I misread this when I first saw it, believing it to be 77p. It's 0.77 of every one penny of every pound? So, approximately f**k all?

Liquidate that club and allow the fans to start a new one. What a joke.

Jack jolly - we have drawn Plymouth in the FA Cup: 4th round 1974-5 Plymouth Argyle v Everton or Altrincham

Indeed I read that and thought that Mick was being a little harsh.

0.77p?

Just how do you get to £17 million in debt?

When it gets to one or two million do people not say..hang on this is getting a bit much isn't it?

I think they stupidly gambled on England getting the World Cup in 2018. The creditors who are offered 0.77p in the pound should tell Plymouth to do one.

They did gamble on the world cup bid, with consultant fees and were chosen as a prefered bid i believe,Exeter did not put in for it to help Plymouth succeed. They owe over £300000 just for having Home Park returfed.

Creditors meeting this Friday 05/05/11 and they need 75% of unsecured creditors to accept 0.18 of a pence in the Pound or the club goes into Liquidation.I know it will not save us,but Southport might get the reprieve, then it only needs 1 club from BSP to lose the agm cup??

I think that is a similar figure to that which  Crawley got away with in the not too distant past.
