From the Northwich Guardian website:
"STEVE Burr is no longer the manager of Northwich Victoria.
He telephoned the Guardian last night to break the news, so ending three years at the helm of the Conference club.
It wasn't the only bombshell he dropped.
Burr is considering legal action against chairman Mike Connett for constructive dismissal.
"As far as I am concerned my contract has been terminated," he said in a statement.
"And therefore I am no longer employed by the club."
His lawyer advised him to say no more at this stage.
But he did say thanks to the fans.
"I would like to thank football secretary Derek Nuttall, general manager Dave Thomas, Dave Moss and all the backroom staff, all the players and our magnificent supporters.
"I have had three great years on the football side of things, and am very proud of our acheivements over that time."
Burr has met Connett twice this week to make plans for next season but talks broke down after a summit on Wednesday night, the Guardian has learned.
It is thought the pair could not agree on which players would be retained - a decision Burr believes should be his to make. He told the Guardian that it was not too late to part on amicable terms as early as yesterday morning but, when he heard nothing from Connett, he decided to release a statement.
The now former Vics boss is away in Scotland this week with the England National Game side, for whom he is assistant to manager Paul Fairclough."
There is a good debate going on, on the Vics trust website as to what the future holds, so you may have hope for next season after all
