I was at the game today and it was a great result
We were the better side in the first half and took the game to them
Second half we defened for most of the half
Overall a game of not too many chances
Col was great and combined very well. Difference to last season was that he didnt stand out alone as there were other great performances and we played well as a team.
Johnson was particuarly impressive, and challenged for everything up front.
Also a great atmosphere

I was interested to hear the Woking boss interviewed before the game. He was saying they have been on a strict fitness regime in pre-season, doing strength work etc...  It is a common misconception now in sport that becoming gym monkeys will make you perform better on the field - wrong. Today we were the better footballing side, and although in the second half I was worried they would have the edge in fitness, we had enough puff left to beat them. Just look at Russia in Euro 2008, they were hardly muscle men but they could play and pass at lightning quick speed and could run all day. This was a victory for passing over push-ups!!

LETS MAKE IT 6 POINTS OUT OF 6 ON TUESDAY BOYS, COMON!!!!!!!!!

just got back from the game.

little was a class finish and we hardley mentioned him all match (just goes to show how we have good enough option now). Meechans goal was top draw, im looking forward to this season now.

so to sum up, Alty 2 - 1 Woking,  3 pts, 4 th in the league , "YOU CAN STICK YOUR LIAM BROWNHILL UP YOUR ARSE"

Agree with redhill alty on this one.

not many chances at all, they were forced to shoot from range most of the time and coburn had little to do. mainly just catches from crosses atc. no outstanding saves to be made. second half they pressed a lot more and legister (sp?) looked good for them when he came on. it stunk of a manager not knowing his best team to be honest.

Johnson just got man of the match for me with an outstanding performance but doughty ccould have won it aswell. he was so solid on the left side of the defence. His face and celebration when little scored...thats what you want to see!

And what a goal too. you could basically see colin say to hutchinson "renjoy your man of the match chamoagne mate, but pick that out the net!"

so all in all, a good first half, and the second half we hit on the break when we could and it worked well. A good performance from the lads. Well done alty!!

can't we just let the season end now... ;D ;D ;D ;D
