I remember Crewe scoring a goal against us in the FA Cup in 1995/96 and it was an unstoppable effort from a long way out. That was also the last season that we ever received an exemption from qualifying for the FA Cup, having reached round 3 the previous season.

A recent one would be from Crawley. Free kick towards Golf Rd hit it on the outside of his left foot, bent round wall and in. Great goal

the 3 first half goals that eastbourne scored on the day we got relegated were all absolute belters. I think the second one was the best - a volley with the outside of the foot from about 30 yards IIRC.

Dismal stuff.

John Vardy for Worksop at Moss Lane, first game of the season 1978/79 - seemed to run with the ball from his own half and beat most of the Alty team on his way to goal. It was announced over the Public Address as "Goal of the season"!
