I have several friends who are Argyle fans and just feel desperately sad for them, its a great club that has been run unbelievably badly, and now as usual is being circled by sharks. The problem with the preferred bidder is they want to separate the club from the ground - we all know where that leads - and their money comes from the guy who owns Truro. None of the other 'interested parties' seems ready to stump up any money. Unfortunately i can see Argyle going bust

Re the north south thing, a couple of years ago I was at Home Park Vs Southampton ad the Argyle fans were singing 'you dirty northern b#stards' to them. They looked a little confused as I'm sure nobody had ever accused Southampton of being northern before.

I think it was the only ground we never got any hassle at that concerend us and felt like we ruled the roost every tme we went there.

if some one gets me drunk i'll tell the story of climbing in the ground and digging the pitch up not that i was involved
or any respectable50+ year old

agree with that, one of the few grounds you never felt you were in trouble -  perhaps because there were always loads of us?
always enjoyed going there despite the general bad results, we often used to stand in front of the main stand and argue with the old blokes who would congregate there, you know how it went
them   'bloody rubbish altrincham'
us 'champions though'
them 'by being dirty'
us 'third round of the fa cup though'
etcetera etcetera

gazelle - werent there pictures?

I was at Hampden when Zidane scored and it didn't look all that great at the time.

Best for Alty? Probably Heathcote against Sheff Utd. At least I remember everyone being a bit shocked by it.

Other than that I spent most of 2 decades watching West Ham every week, so any  of about 50 by Paolo Di Canio.

and this for our older viewers
