Entertaining report seemed to sum up the RR commentary very well.

My word, a realistic two eyed non bitter report for once, get it framed.

I know it's hard to find criticism of a 3-0 victory but, whilst it is correct to say that for 80 minutes shildon matched us and in parts outplayed us, I do think we took our foot of the gas yesterday. The tempo dropped and for the best part of an hour, we let Shildon get back into the game (albeit with no goals to show for their effort).

Admittedly, the game was pretty much dead and buried after then third goal went in, but a more ruthless we could have pressed on and won by 6 or 7.

I'm not sure why people think its only us that has a say in what happens in a game.  It seems to be an Alty fans things.

People asking why did we let Gainsborough attack us in the second half, why did we let BPA come at us in the second half and now why did we let Shildon have some attacks.

I would suggest we didn't let anyone do anything, they simply did it.

Granted we had more quality than Shildon but they were at home with nothing to lose, they had to go for it.

We simply aren't good enough to control games for 90 mins (unless its against some of the real tripe at home) and I doubt we ever will be.

We won, 3-0 away at a real banana skin tie, we are £4500 up, with a chance for more, a first cup win and goals in years, a hoodoo exorcised, I'm pretty much fine with that. Bring on Tadcaster Albion in the next round.
