Budget

This is just an innocent question. No agenda attached. Quite a few people have made comments about the budget being significantly lower this year. Is this a fact or an assumption? Do we lose much in the way of TV money.

I know that the away support for some conference north teams is minimal but Halifax, Stockport, FCUM and Salford should all pitch up with a decent level of support.

You get a bit less out of the TV pot and the play off receipts but I wouldn't know.

There'll have to be a bit of a cut. You'd probably be wise to budget for the attendances we had last time in this league and anything extra is a bonus.

Salford won't bring many.

Tranmere, Wrexham and Chester will be losses.

I'd also add that we couldn't really budget for extra income from the CSH as we don't know how it pans out. With a full years trading behind it we should be able to see how well it's working income wise.

For our last three seasons in Conference North we were bringing in between about 420 and 500k a year. Our relegation season in 2011 was about 550k income. Our first season back in 2015 was about 590k.

Hard to quantify exactly as losses were made in some years, profits in others. You also have Watmore money, play off gate receipts etc. to factor in.

Probably a good result tonight with Sunderland staying up. The Watmore deal was all about appearances and a sell on fee. With Sunlun having another 38 PL games guaranteed now hopefully we'll be closer to some more wedge. He'll probably need to start more games though, think his number of starts as opposed to appearances is still minimal.

Still hopeful he could move on for a big fee if he keeps progressing

And Macc, Grimsby and York

Thanks for your replies.

Hopefully if we can do well from the off the home support will be maintained and the books balanced successfully. A few victories to look forward to has got to be better than turning up in nervous anticipation of another defeat like we did for the last twelve months.
