I’ve noticed that two out of three of our community sides are playing at the Beer Festival. I hope both sides have a well attended fixture, especially walking football (tournament) making its debut.
I maybe mistaken, but didn’t someone post a message from Grahame Rowley saying the Supporters Team were also due to play, and that previous messages that it was cancelled were incorrect. As we get closer to the beer festival, I wondered before I reached out to the club if this is being organised independtly of the Community-backed supporters team,
Has anybody heard anything? I can’t find the original thread. If not, I’ll reach out and see what’s happening with it, because the Supporters trophy is behind the bar, and it’s a game with so much history.

I think there was talk of it being on another date. Though in my opinion it should be part of the Beer Festival.

Thanks Chester, do you know the rumoured dates?
I agree, I think it’s a massive shame it’s not part of the calandra (although it maybe kept on the quiet?)

The thread discussing it is on the Phil Parkinson thread from the 22 nd January

This game is traditionally the curtain raiser for the beer festival?
I highly doubt it is the reason but given the weather we have had, and the impact this has had on the pitch, having a game planned the night before what could have been a title deciding game would not be wise.
Not sure when the ladies game is, this could be the Friday, I can't see a schedule anywhere, so this may still happen.

Ladies team I believe are on the Friday night, Walking Football on the Sunday

Who from Wayno?
That's such a shame really. A Tuesday night instead of the beer festival opener.

Star jumps were the highlight of our training regime.

Almost. Change the "l" to an "n" and you've about got it Ray.

For the first time Altrincham Girls will be also playing a mini tournament on the Sunday under 8 - 11 This
is the first opportunity since being formed of playing on the pitch.

Another brilliant part of the weekend. I must have missed this on the programme leaflet in the bar.
Great to see our juniors team feature as they are the fans of the future.
