Rory's Grandad, that is exactly how I see it too, will be an exciting player to watch. I hope he gets a run of games and the chance to therefore become an established player. Phil is the right man to help him resurrect his career, the rest is up to him and us, to a certain extent.

He won't get a better chance, as you day it's up to him. He needs to apply himself, work hard and be professional in what he does, off and on the pitch. Good luck.

Full time score anybody?

I am about to give up trying Radio Alty / Robins - it keeps dropping on my tablet. No text scores either!

This is undoubtedly a huge blow - he's looked a cut above in so many of our games across the second half of the season, and he looked sharp in pre-season too.

Second player to be done by a divot whilst running - pure rotten luck, or are we training on poor surfaces?

We're they both done at Knutsford?

I sense a lot of pressure on Marcus Dinanga to come up with the goods this season. A glorious opportunity for him.

My main feedback is the speed of update. Getting results and quick report up asap is the main thing, it was a bigger issue when there was no live update page either. Info on the first team squad was also missing but is there now.

Speed of updates!  Even JL’s approach of stringing the tweets together to make a match report is better than complete silence. Home page doesn’t even acknowledge the game happened. The fixtures page hasn’t even got the Stockport score up yet. The old site had live text updates so you could catch up part way through the match or afterwards.

Update JL has now updated his site with a copy of the Stoke report so two updates before the official site even has the result available.
full time and proud of it

Alty Files is my first port of call for club news. Has been for years. The official site looks snazzy but lacks content. The old saying fur coat and no knickers comes to mind.

Wouldn’t have thought so, otherwise it’s not closed doors

BCD games are often on telly / radio.

I don't know the final score!

Best 11 for at least an hour. I don't mind some changes after that, county will provide a test that some trial players may fail. It's make or break time.

Sadly though Erin has been trolled, not only by those who don't believe Women belong in football but also by an Alty Fan and regular contributor to this site who think she's getting too much undeserved credit and that there are other fans much more deserving of the attention

What a pathetic specimen.

That is a wonderful article. Erin, mum and grandfather should be very proud.

The bit that struck home to me was when Erin spoke of nerves, overcoming those feelings and now waiting to interview managers. As a middle aged bloke living with a bag of nerves and anxieties I can only admire her and use Erin and her approach as a way to make progress myself.

Thank you for posting.

No   rough date given as to when he might be back but wont be until early 2023  or later ?

This sounds like 2023 to me. Hopefully the pitches won't be too heavy mid season, I think that would hamper his come back.

Gutted.

Come on you bloody super Alty.

Whoever he has signed for I’m delighted the lad has recovered from that horrific injury he sustained at Wealdstone last September.

Great to see you back fella. Enjoy your time at Buxton.

Buxton are assembling a handy looking squad, good to see . Rooting for them and Curzon this season .

I'd love to see both of them do really well this year. Apart from anything else for the sake of seeing all our old boys succeed again.
How great would it be for one of them to get promoted! Buxton seem to be well backed so would probably be the better bet to stay up.

Yes, there does seem to be a tendency for leading clubs, such as Brackley and Boston United, to constantly fail to get promotion, while either relegated clubs, or newly promoted ones, make a real effort to go up. Buxton do seem to fit that pattern and would get a thousand watching them if they are doing well.

I bet half the teams down South haven’t a clue where Buxton is, they would be in for a shock if Buxton did come up to our league and they had to travel up there on a cold winter Tues night

Yep, one of the coldest games I ever went to was when our game at Macclesfield was off on New Year's Day one year , but Buxton v Colwyn Bay went ahead. Mark Dempsey was playing for the visitors, before he joined us, and went off with mild hypothermia.

There's an artificial pitch there now, so games will be on, provided the pitch isn't actually covered with snow, and the away team can actually get to Buxton. It does seem very odd talking about freezing Buxton in today's climate!

One of my all time sporting tales, Buxton...snow...June https://www.thecricketer.com

There is now a report on the match, and the weekend as a whole, on the club's website. It would have been on earlier, but there have been one or two teething troubles with the new website which are being ironed out. Apologies.

Thanks John - I'll stop whingeing now !

Don't EVER change mate! 🙄😂😂

Not even his kex?
