I stand on the popular side on the edge of the area towards the golf road end, in my opinion it is good spot to watch from. Personally I think it gives a great view of the midfield, I lean on the fence pitchside, give the liner a bit of stick and enjoy the game. Sometimes I don't move for the second half and watch us defend, I think that defenders are happy having a bit support at the their backs. If we get access to the chequers end I always go and watch us attack it, I think it gives a great view of the ground, I would be happy to stand there all game objections of the away fans aside.

Falkirk were on TV the other night they installed an artificial pitch http://www.greenfields.eu/sports-news/falkirk-fc-installs-technology-artificial-pitch/ the pitch looked really good, I agree it changes the game slightly, but not as much a waterlogged pitch. I would much rather see a ball bounce than stick in mud, or even worse spending Saturday afternoon in shops.

Also the case study points out that the 1st team and U20 will play and train on it the pitch reducing costs.

Beach towels would be cool, if you could get numbers on them that would be even better - a great tweet with a picture of the Alty squad around the pool and a pile of German towels in the corner.

I watched Alty in the 80's as teenager then moved away for a bit, came back in 2005 or so. Personally I love this club and like that it is run by people who know how to budget and keep the club on the straight and narrow.

I also like the fact that I can approach players, managers, supporters and board members, ask a question and get an answer.

Ecky's post is as usual very good and well observed, his comments do not require validation from me, but...

This year we hired the CSH for my daughters 18th, it is near impossible to get a venue to host an 18th these days. We had a great night, Ritchie made a great buffet - enough to feed a few more than we had. Value for money it was great and hopefully it put a few quid into the club, we had around 70 people attend and only 4 of us were Alty fans; however at least 6 of those people have been to an Alty game now. While our one night will not fund promotion to the league, there will be amny others like over the coming years that will help to fund the club. The CSH is a great asset to the club, we would not have hired the old bar.

Another point raised was about regional football. I personally was quite happy winning games in the Conference North and was unsure if promotion was a good thing (aside of the actual moment we won promotion which was EPIC); however I have really enjoyed the last couple seasons and admit that I was wrong. The National league may be as far as we can hope to acheive, add in a couple of decent cup runs and we are doing OK.

Leamington Site has 'Saturday 16 January 2016, 3:00pm at the Phillips 66 Community Stadium'

They have not updated the twitter feed or made official announcement but assume the game is moved.

Perish the thought, but if it's off again tomorrow, would that mean next Tuesday (12th) and the postponement of the Vanarama National game v.Wrexham?

On a previous thread some body said it would move to 16th Jan, making the run to Bognor a mid week game

And they talk about Himalayan Salt too.  Himalayan Salt??  Really??

So, they play in green, they are hated by Alty and they have a salt fixation.

Are they Northwich in disguise?

I have some Hinalayan Salt, a lad at work said it is the best salt he had ever tasted. He brought me a jar, I tried it, it tastes the same as ordinary salt. It is pink though so Mrs began likes it...

I got down there at 5 o'clock this afternoon, me and my lad had tea in the car park and watched Snatch (highlight of the day) it was raining, but looked OK.
By 7pm corner flags puddled and goal mouth.
A Leamington director I was talking to said they would try for 5th Jan - they will have to cancel league game against Kettering, he also said they wanted to get the game played today.

I thought the team were more positive tonight, mistakes were made, Clee and Leather for me were outstanding, Moult was solid, I quite enjoyed Reeves and Rankine together although at times they did get a bit close to each other and the play broke down. Clee and Bowerman linked up well quite well, Luca was unlucky but defensive errors always get punished.
I was gutted when they scored and even more so when they scored again, but in fairness to the lads they kept going forward and got a point.
Of late we have had plenty of possession, but failed to attack the goal, tonight we had more shots than I have seen a while, with luck we will continue to keep the ball, move forward and players confidence will grow and with it our goal and points tally.

As a youngster I followed Alty during the 80’s, but drifted away in my late teens only to return with my son around 2007/8. At that time I used to read the forum and gained a great deal of information about the club and the personalities of the fans. I often marvelled at the stats that were produced in thread comments and the knowledge people had on here about new signings achievements when they were coming in from lower leagues.

I still enjoy the forum, although post don’t seem as frequent these days and sometimes drift into what could be deemed to be negative. However the right to post an opinion is the point of this forum. I like this thread.  It appears to have prompted people to post, please post more. I for one like to read the opinions of those who have far greater knowledge of non-league footy than me.

I think that Alty is in a great place at the moment, gates are up the club is doing well and the lads and ladies are playing decent footy. I reckon that everyone on here wishes the club well.

I don’t tend to post because generally I think that I have little to add to comments made by others, except to echo ‘An Arabian Investors’ first post “COME ON ALTY”

The new site is different than the old one, but has a lot of good content and finding stuff isn't that hard if you have a poke around. The search under site index will find most things on the site if you are stuck.
An awful lot of thought and effort goes into creating a website: Where to host the site, the technology it sits on, the design of the site, the content that makes the site and then the constant tinkering to keep the site up to date, as well as the support work to keep the site alive. Who fixes it goes off.
I raise my glass to the webmaster, especially when you give your time, energy and skills for free.
