Title: Borehamwood - MATCH THREAD
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on November 19, 2015, 11:01:39 AM
Another huge game, looking at the fixture list for Saturday, 3 points could give us some real daylight. After Halifax,Kidderminster and Torquay we can't rely on just turning up, the same grit and fight as last week is needed. With the run of fixtures we have after Saturday, a maximum return is a must. Probably unchanged player wise from Saturday. Hopefully ranks,Nicky and Dens getting close to a return

Why are we outsiders with the bookies. Is it worth a punt or does somebody know something?

I'd assumed neither would be ready with them being carful on hamstrings, but let's hope so

Dead right. Absolutely huge game. Any complacency or inability to role sleeves up and get stuck in will result in us getting beaten. Time to put a run together.

Not too fussed about James Lawrie. Thought the balance looked good on Saturday and don't feel he's done enough this season to warrant a starting place....

He does a lot more than bowerman

Did we play 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 on Saturday? Didn't see the game, would be interested to know. Thanks

Alty have drifted all week , firm favourites at the start of the week but not now for some reason

Some very generous prices for the first goalscorer with Bet 365, including:

17/2 Joel Swift
12 Rhain Davies

and my own particular fancy:

28/1 Tom Marshall

I'll offer you 100/1 on either.

Perhaps they have heard something we haven't

I can't imagine it would take much money to shorten up a team in a National League match.

Going by club website, possibly but by no means certainly.

We should be thankful they offer prices on our matches so we can profit from backing Reeves to score 1st and also being able to back each way on 1st scorers.

Don't know, honestly didn't notice Bowerman the entire game so I couldn't tell you where he was supposed to be playing

Could do without Bowerman starting tomorrow, he's been an absolute liability for weeks.

He seemed to start good then go off don't know why yet look at Ry wasn't getting much game time so reckon he confidence dropped but look at him now after game time hope he keeps it up

Sorry but Bowerman has to be one of the worst signings over the last five years. Why on earth didn't we sign him on non-contract terms as I can't imagine there were too many teams queuing up to sign him, we could have released him when he didn't measure up. Check out the highlights from Bromley for O'Keefes' goal, what he was trying to do with that goal scoring chance is anybody's guess!

When you look at some of the defenders we signed first year down bowerman is nowhere near one of the worst signings in the last 5 years, granted I'm not convinced by him.

He has regressed quite markedly IMO. Refuses to challenge for the ball, doesn't think or look when on the run, runs into dead ends, is very easily muscled off the ball and has a remarkably weak shot.

I agree there were some pretty abysmal defenders signed but at least they were able to kick the ball which Bowerman does seem incapable of doing. I'm actually getting to the stage where I preferred Gillespie as at least he had the decency to just sit in the main stand!

Ask Steve from Sale?

A massive 3 points and gives a little light between us and the relegation zone. I still think one or two of those teams in the bottom 4 will go on a surprise winning run. How can Halifax win 4-1 at Gateshead especially going down to 10 men at 1-1?

I thought Gateshead were toss when we played them to be honest.
