Jack was truly the proof that a club legend doesn't have to actually kick a football. A true gentleman as well. Sincere condolences to all his family.

Another real club man that's always been there as long as I've watched alty leaves us, very sad news.Jack was from a generation of the likes that we will never see again. How many people will reach their 90s these days, never mind still be attending football matches and going for a pint in the tatton unaided.Condolences to David and family, sleep well jack.

Rest in Peace dear Jack.
Jack was a lovely man, and as I remember he had a great sense of humour.. especially when on very wet nights many of us rallied round to get the game on, forking those very wet spots..under his direction, a Monday night vs Wealdstone being one of the most memorable.
I feel privelidged to have known Jack, and did really enjoy my last proper chat with him at Bath last season, leaning on the pitchside fence on the edge of the 18 yard box.
I hope some permanent memorial can be placed at ML, in  addition to a plaque on the wall by the bar.. perhaps the club mower should carry his name? If that can be done I'll buy the plaque!
Take care David at this sad time, many are thinking of you and the family.
