Looked good commanded his area , took couple of crosses with confidence , and made two very good saves .

Those of you with long memories will recall how Alex Stepney changed a very good defence into an exceptional one, with no change in personnel. If the defence can gain confidence in Parton's ability to handle crosses and in his distribution, then that defence can improve further.

That is not meant as a slight on Stu but an observation of areas where Parton may well excel.

Went to the game yeaterday and for me Dave was the Alty highlight.  Some very good work in the air at crosses and two fine saves.  Not the finished article, his distributions needs sharpening up but for me 8/10.
