I thought our defence had to work over time today as they ran straight through the midfield , hannigan was my motm .... clee schooled harrop when he went against him , wound him up got him booked then showed what he can do by creating the equaliser ceesay,jj, harrop and hancock (who was very lucky to stay on the pitch ) could have been subbed even the sub himself they were that bad , agree with the post above there number 4 was excellent

1. Jake Moult ... at times drags the team kicking and screaming into playing
2. Tom Hannigan ... oozes class
3. Andy White ... proved how good he is taking over from densmore at right back , can do a job at left back and along with jones the most improved player in the team

special mention to jones and hancock who have both surprised me in stepping up and looking like they can take it further.

Two reasons to loathe him now: he's a Tory and he's Macc's manager.

Could be worse he could be a momentum supporting corbinite macc manager

I think it as meant to be tongue in cheek when it was announced under the heading vandals ,  its a gimmick , we dont live in a utopian world where everyone needs to be consulted , i just wish the regime could understand the fans a little better whether disenfranchised or supportive of the directors but i for one will not hate on everything that is done by the club (ps i want him out as well im just not as recipherus in my displeasure )

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Bernard Taylor RIP
« on: October 01, 2018, 06:37:18 PM »

Sad news, indeed.

My condolences to his family and friends.

My abiding memory from his entertaining rollercoaster tenure as Alty's manager:

RUNCORN...0  ALTRINCHAM...3

Unibond League Premier Division

Saturday, 26th December 1998

There's nothing quite like a Boxing Day outing to the exotic climes of a blustery and rainy Runcorn and one of my enduring memories of this particular excursion relates to the Alty manager Bernard Taylor being rendered a fashion victim by his ill-advised decision to wear a pair of fancy beige slip-ons. I recall watching with a sense of increasing trepidation as he struggled to remain upright and slithered through the cloying mud along the touchline whilst undertaking his precarious trudge to the away dugout in front of the main stand.

I count myself fortunate enough to be one of the 630 people who can truthfully say 'I was there' when the discussion turns to that astonishing afternoon when Stuart Coburn both scored a goal and saved a penalty within the same game. This rarely-seen 'double' helped to propel Alty to the top of the league that day and they proceeded to attain promotion back to the Nationwide Conference just over four months later.

i was there that day and you are also forgetting concorde flew past as well a very memorable day it was

i think this is out of order , what about us blokes that have had the snip i think this is jonnism and the club should supply a free pint for every blike that has had his tackle sliced and diced to show solidarity with all men not the few.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: World Cup 2018 thread 🏆
« on: July 13, 2018, 08:37:21 PM »
The World Cup may not be coming home.....but football has come home...to the place that invented it.

The England team has once again reached the semi final of a world cup, a cup they won in 1966, a cup we regularly qualify for and reach the quarters or last 16 at the very least....... they have restored hope and pride to a nation........we were a professional 45 mins of football from reaching a final we had half a chance of winning....
......can't say anything like that about Scotland can we?

Not from Scotland or a Scotland supporter, but it's hardly comparing like for like is it? England has a population over ten times larger than Scotland. For countries with an established history of playing football, you would expect countries with bigger populations to more regularly appear in finals.

Croatia?

Even iceland have made the past 2 tournaments and there population is a little larger than alty
