Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Five Years Ago

That single decision has probably had the most significant effect this club has seen in the past hundred years(maybe only surpassed by kingy, fans and friends bailing us out after maunders) it is all debatable. Either way what a position to be in! always the bridesmaid etc i really would love to hear the opinions Joe,Ecky,Skipper and Mr J Black and others departed.

Looking at the thread about Dibble and someone mentioning that Lancaster game was the worst defeat in some time it got me thinking!!! when and against whom do you think was our worst ever defeat (for what ever reason)

Mine was either the 0-4 mauling by Macc when they won the league, 0-2 against Accrington Stanley in the fa cup under Gerry Quinn or the 2-1 at Stafford (that game still haunts me)

Altrincham FC First Team / Sad news about ex player.

Reading on the Chester forum about ex Alty player Barry Butler...

Barry is in a nursing home where he continues to suffer from Alzheimer’s. Such a sad affliction on anyone let alone a player i have fond memory's of.

Colclough more than likely on full time wages here, plus sorvel and parky know how to get the best out of him and he respects them. Match made in moss lane

Marriot was outstanding today, notable mentions for jordan, mooney, jones and toby. The back four were outstanding under the circumstance's and i think most were shocked by either how bad they were or the fact we made them look poor, even though after the first 15 minutes i was a little nervous.

After reading the Southport forum it seems they are expecting a win or worst and draw, even if we drop a few regulars and we turn up we will murder them they do not realise the difference in the two leagues, if we dont turn up then its anyone's game but I don't think parky or sorvs will let that happen.

I have some outlaws that live in Ashington and let me assure you the place is still a complete sh*t tip, still revelling in their mining past and the mining museum is the biggest draw in the area.
