I not only played for, but also managed, the Crewe Safeway football team. I was our only scorer against the Alty Presto/Safeway and we lost 4-0 - one defeat amongst many!
-
I'm mainly famous for my trademark removal of my glasses prior to my rapier like headers, but it's a little known fact I once nutmegged Lee sharp in his pomp while representing st ambrose swimming class under 7 V versus lee sharp guest I. It was a magical moment

did i ever tell you áll that at one time i had scored more goals on weymouths pitch than altrincham had in several attempts.
and cue tales of the great weymoth matches from Mr seller.

ballers was good wasnt he?
His goal in the 7-a-side tournament at Upton againt Southport's supporters team a few years back was the stuff of legend (though hardly the highlight of his career!).
It's fair to say he can play a bit, yes! :)

Alty USA and SW starred for Moorlands Junior School!!
-
Released by Man u at 16, drifted in and out of stockports first team in the late 90's before succumbing to a two footer from Gary Stuart on stanny park, been getting pissed and teasing idiots on the forum ever since

Oh no, now you've done it Simon, I'll have to go undercover and change my appearance now!
Dons dark glasses 8)

Oh, and Heyes Lane "All Stars" victory v Park Road in 1979
-
I scored the winning penalty in the Staff v Supporters game in 2005. Not bad considering I was 21 stone at the time. The highlight of my playing career so far.

Did a lad called Lloyd Gale play on that team? Possibly a lad called Christie as well - Lloyd's brother in law, I think?

I remember Lloyd, can't remember the other lad, but we may have had a ringer or 2!

I seem to recall that Mr Seller sustained a concussion during one of the epic fixtures of which you speak which could have impaired his memory somewhat
-
Goalkeeper and captain of Heyes Lane C team as an 11 year old.
Founding father, chairman, player/manager of the (sadly now defunct) Timperley Tortoises.
-
Once played against an Open Prison XI in the early 80s.......we lost despite all their players being in their forties. None of us were keen on a shower afterwards by the way :o
-
Turned out for Melrose Wanderers before a long career with WSM (Windsor, Slough & Maidenhead) Celtic in the Thames Valley League Division 8.

Played in goal for Alty Grammar and Trafford during my school days before playing for Sale Utd for a number if years before finishing with a couple of seasons and a league winners medal at Dane Rd Central. Retired at 30 due to having a glass back and dodgy knees!

Played a couple of seasons in the crewe regionals with Lloyd; strong as an ox and lighting fast. A shame that he thought he was better as a free roaming libero...
Christie was another lad from the west end. Ponytail, he married Lloyd's sister. Generally played right wing, sometimes up front.
Either way, small world.

Sure is!
Do remember him being a big bloke tho!
-
Yeah he was. Black belt if I remember rightly - handy enough lad to be fair.
Did a lad called Blakey play for you as well? Not sure if he was from Nantwich safeways or Crewe - spitting image of Jimmy Nail, played up front.

-
Played in goal for Stretford Victoria Junior teams for the past 10 years, until our team folded last summer. I can proudly say that in all the years I have played against Altrincham Juniors, a certain Mr Watmore never scored past me

Not sure this pen name can be allowed surely there is only one "the general ", maybe a game of pool preceded by 8 pints of strong cider in the slow and easy to decide who is "the general"

you crack me up you do
I would like to publicly state i am not the aforementioned general
However a game of pool and 8 pints sounds fun but after your display on the pool table at your old hotel and pre the Northwich game i cant see myself winning !!
Ps you will always be the general

Yea I played, i was king of the wing for Shevington from 1995-1997 (i was 11) but started losing my pace as I grew up..moved in to the central position as I controlled the game and made opportunities.
I decided to hang up my boots at the age of 15, unlike so many of these stars today I thought it was best to end on a high..highest goal scorer in High School.
I believe in 2008 a Joe Wright beat my record by 2 goals, but they started playing 3 extra games a season in 2007 compared to when I was playing.

I remember those days H, Nigel Tomlinson was a member of our team, Steve Mason's dad was the manager, Happy days - We played on some terrible pitches :D
-
Played for British Airways in the Wythenshawe Sunday League. I was offered a trial at Man City but what my Dad said is not repeatable. I was not good enough for Alty neither was I Scouse! Plus I supported Guinness as well as Alty!!!!
