I think we are expecting too much on Saturday as the "inform" teams are Kidderminster and Northwich. In Kidderminster's case, sometimes teams play better when the pressure of needing points no longer applies. Somehow Northwich are on a fantastic run and also grinding out points with late equalisers when they look to be heading for defeat. However, I would be very upset if as suggested Vics manage to finance a relegation escape and then go into administration in the close season.

Resting injured players has been misused for years.
Biggiest culprits are Rangers. They withdrew players from Scotland's last match yet they were fit to play for Rangers both Saturdays preceding and afterwards which just happened to ba a match with Celtic.
They once withdrew all 4 of their players  from Scotland's Euro 1988 qualifier in Bulgaria (all 4 were regulars in Scotland's first team). Yet all 4 played for Rangers the Saturday before and the following Satuday, as all 4 made miraculous recoveries in 2 days. Scotland could no longer qualify, but the match was important as Bulgaria only needed a point to qualify. What actually happened is Scotland fielded what was in effect a reserve side, but against all the odds substitute Gary Mackay of Hearts scored a last minute winner. The implication was that the Republic of Ireland finished top of the qualifing group ahead of Bulgaria - something not celebrated by Rangers followers.

I walked into a Pub the Friday Rangers first appointed Walter as Manager to be greeted with this news by a mate of mine who is a Rangers Supporter.
He was delighted with the appointment as in his view "Walter was the right calible for the job"
I questioned this as how could someone with no football managerial experience whatsoever, be the right calibre to suddenly be promoted from a Coach of Dundee United to the position of Manager of Scotland's second top Club ?.
Answer - He's a a good lodge man (member of the Orange Lodge)
Like with most of what Rangers Supporters are about - it had very little to do with football.

I bet Halifax are beginning to rue their timing of going into administration just  when they thought that they were safe from relegation.

Agree with the above. A great effort today against the best team in this League. We deserved something today. A repeat of todays performance should see off the likes of Stafford, Weymouth. Salisbury and Kiddy.

Grew up as a child  in the area behind the Hare & Hounds - spent my youth in the Hare & Hounds/Moss Hotel !!!.
First went to Moss Lane when I was 6 in 1963 with 2 of my mates Tony Cooper and Richard Barker who were a bit older than me, for a 3-3 draw with Mossley. Johnny Mitten was our star striker in those days and the Moss Lane pitch looked like Southport Beach. Then my Dad took me to Alty matches to get us away from the house so my Mam could sleep as she was a nursing sister on nights at Wythenshawe Hospital. The Golf Road was uncovered in those days and we had a great Goalkeeper called Mick Smyth before he went back to Dublin and went on to play for the Republic of Ireland. I remember lots of banners in those days - and supported on poles. The Jackie Swindells era was our most romantic. First away match was during the Jackie Swindells era - a 4-1 thrashing of Vics after we were 1-0 down at half time. The 70's and early 80's were our most successful with annual love affairs with the FA Cup. The day after we lost 6-1 at Burnley I went to live in South Africa and stayed there for 23 years keeping in touch with Alty via the Pink/Exiles newsletter before the advent of the internet. Once travelled from Joburg to watch us beat Blackpool in the FA Cup. Spent a short time  in London during our great FA Cup run in 1986 and went to Blackpool again, Birmingham and York. Came back to live in Redhill 3 years ago and have been to most Alty games in the South over the last 3 years and now bring my 5 year old son with me who I am already brainwashing into supporting Alty. Just hope we stay up and have games to take Robbie to next season. No matter where I have lived am still Alty through and through.

At Grays last Saturday there were hardly any young kids at the game.
Probably because they have a policy of charging all kids under 16 yrs £4.00 - even very small ones
And they wonder why their attendences are so low - then they do little to encourge the fans of the future.
Its the first time I have had to pay for my son who is under 6 yrs
After arguing they did agree to charge me a concession rate instead of Adult price and still charged for Robbie

If my memory is correct it was Graham Hayes, a red haired midfielder that we signed from Macc.
It was taken before the FA Trophy Final in 1978. After the Jeff Johnson Quip, he said this is Balck Beard (Kingy) and I predict that he is going to chin someone.

Jackie is probably the most famous of Alty heros and his name and achievemnts put us on the map.
A goal scoring record that will never be repeated.
My PE Teacher, Keith Madeley at BTH played at Full back for Chester in the above mentioned thrashing.
I would like to see some visual recognition at Moss Lane - its long overdue

Best Wishes Jackie and Get Well soon

Mick Woodward is a man who stands up for his principals and puts his money where his mouth is.
He came to Alty's defence in our time of need 2 years ago during that 18 Points deduction fiasco.
Grays are probably one of the friendliest of Clubs and I am looking forward to our visit there in 2 weeks time.
Right or Wrong, I wouldnt like to see Grays punished.
