A lot to do in the close season, the truth is we're just not doing the basics in either penalty box - we don't take our chances and concede far too easily. Whilst playing as badly as I can remember a Parkinson side doing (Shildon included) we still had enough genuine chances to have won.

https://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/sport/football/shaymen-issue-warning-to-supporters-ahead-of-play-off-game-against-chesterfield-3705415

This is an article from 11 months ago before Halifax's play off game vs Chesterfield. Clearly the club know some of their support have form:

Halifax say they have witnessed "a number of unacceptable incidents" taking place with supporters over recent months and that in the main, those in question who have brought the game and the club into disrepute have been dealt with and "a number of banning orders are now in place".

and

"These flares are extremely dangerous and can cause life changing injuries, including severe burns and breathing difficulties. We will be searching everyone entering the South and North Stands, this includes those under 16.

"This will be conducted by the stewarding team in conjunction with the police. Anyone caught with a flare will be arrested and will receive a five year football ban and possible custodial sentence.

There is video footage available of the flare being thrown and of Sinclair appearing to be assaulted after his penalty miss by a fan invading the playing area. Obviously it was our responsibility to ensure these events didn't occur as the home club. However, for the good name of Halifax as a football club, I'd have thought they should, for the sake of consistency, be investigating the identities of the perpetrators of the two incidents with a view to placing a banning order on them. If they don't it will amount to condoning, in their own words, criminal behaviour.

In my 50+ years of watching the club I think those last few minutes are probably the most disgraceful scenes I've witnessed in terms of a referee surrendering control of a football match. It's not a question of a subjective decision it's a clear refusal to apply the laws of the game. Whatever the the arguments of missed chances etc the very least our players should expect from officials is a fair contest. It is without dispute this wasn't the case in the penalty shoot-out.

Let's also be very clear here, if the shoe was on the other foot, this forum would be full of people wanting to identify the flare thrower, those interfering with the nets and worrying about what the FA would do. As one who had to dodge flying concrete blocks at The Shay in 1975 I won't hold my breath that there's a similar inquest in Halifax.

Well said Andrew. There are still a few of us on here who were involved with SAFE and can vouch for the effort involved (while acknowledging that circumstances then were very different to now).
There’s a fine line between independence of the club and engagement with the club but I suspect there are sufficient motivated people to make it work.

Well volunteered

Fanzine?

Given his stature to make it as a pro he needs pace, a trick or real passing ability. From his time with us he didn't seem to have the first two, maybe in a less physically demanding league he'll show he's got the latter. His best performance was vs Wrexham which perhaps reveals more than anything else ability wise.

I'm actually more wary of Halifax than the other two as, like us, they don't have anything else to play for.

That York made five changes from their win at Bromley supports Leon's view. A Home draw is the priority imho.

I live in York and we've only had a light dusting of snow and it's about 5 degrees and sunny today. So as others have said the only possible risk is the low temps overnight. I'm more worried about the second half at SC**thorpre than the weather...

Could have been worse but could have been better. It's doable both travel wise and result wise but not the same in the new stadium.

Agree with all this. If we weren’t getting Farsley this or Halifax would have been the best away days. Easy do on the train from anywhere, great pubs but obviously a cab or shuttle bus to the ground not quite the same as the walk to BC. Both sides will fancy their chances.

They 2 key points are we avoided Barnet who on current form are the strongest side and the players have the best part of a month to gel. As tough as Saturday was, in a way it was an ideal result in that it wasn't our football that got us through, it was hard work and a bit of good fortune. You can't win anything without those.

Looking at the other teams left in this competition I think that it is our best chance to win it in many years.

Every year I hear this

Bearing in mind we've not reached the Quarter Finals for 28 years it's normally a much longer list.

Looking forward to seeing JUNIOR QUITIRNA, sounds like a prospect.

Might be mistaken but isn't he the one from Fleetwood via Waterford and only with us for a month while he sorts his official paperwork out?

I took it from Phil's answer that the one month is now until the end of the season. Their League starts next week and goes on until mid October, so if Junior stays until the FA Trophy Final (!) he'll be fully match fit for them.

His arrival in '77 was the catalyst which brought about the period for which the club is best remembered and established our name as one to be respected. From his home debut goal, to his return in '94 to re-take the reigns and save us from certain relegation, to giving up his shareholding a few years ago (the results of which we are witnessing now) his contribution to our club are incalculable. RIP Kingy.

He said Aaron Bennett wasn't quite 100% match fit but not to rule him out returning at some point.
