I got Switzerland in the TASC draw - the boys are off to a flyer! In support of my adopted nation I'm going to stuff my face with chocolate and buy a few cuckoo clocks!

first you can't trust the Italians, now you can't trust the Spanish - bloody typical

If only the bookies would pay out for 2 out of 3 on a treble !

2-3 goals in the early match between Argies vs S.Korea is Evens. I've put a bit on that. I fancy either 1-1 or 2-1 Argentina, couldn't decide which, so thought I'd cover all my bases and a few others with a 'safer' bet.

That said, I thought a Chile/Spain double was a safe bet  ::)

Bit of an overachievement for my bets too. I went for 7-8 goals on the day, so I needed France - Mexico to finish goalless.

Well, that's a few quid I don't mind losing ! The cheating, cheese-eating, surrender monkeys can catch their flight home to France early next week so that Ribery and his pals can spend the school holidays chasing under-age totty.

The fiver I had on Uruguay at 3-1 to win the group looks a VERY good investment. I may actually get interested in this Tournament now the Frogs are going back to their lily pads.

.....and today I had ten quid at 8-5 that there'd be 6 goals or less. I'd written it off after the first two matches produced 5. Should have known I could depend on good old England to come up trumps.

Alan Green seemed to think it was the worst game he'd seen at this World Cup, the worst England performance he could ever remember, and that there wasn't a single England player who had even a half decent game. Wayne Rooney was "disinterested" apparently.

Green must be wrong of course. I know that England are a magnificent unit, crammed full of World class players, and that it is a privilege beyond price to be able to watch them. Although I've suffered nearly every kick of the 44 years since we last actually won anything, I know in my heart of hearts that playtime is now over, and we will whup Slovenia before going on to glory.

Forza Inglaterra ! Onwards and upwards !

Must go now, the men in white coats are at the door............

First it was the Italians letting me down first match,

then the Germans getting beaten,

then Spain drawing AND then failing to score 3 against mighty Honduras

and finally France failing to beat South Africa

that's four x £1 trebles gone west and £1 incorrect score prediction.

Not to mention pulling out Cameroon in the Alty World Cup draw and a crap list of predictions in the TASC World Cup Prediction competition

This World Cup is costing a fortune !!

Still I still have a fiver each on England and Germany to win the World Cup - I could still be in profit come the end of the tournament ?
