Recognition for Geoff Goodwin

I would love to see Geoff Goodwin recognised not just by the club, but by the town of Altrincham/borough of Trafford. Amongst many who have stood up for, supported and, to be blunt, saved Altrincham FC, he has been a giant.

It says so much about the man that he has given over a year's warning of his departure from his current position - again, he put the club first.

Maybe a Sir Matt Busby type statue outside the ground for Geoff? Or get him a seat on the Borough of Trafford council.

Yes he has done well but lots of people do well in every walk of life and dont get recognised for it.

I am sure everyones appreciation is enough for Geoff and we are all proud of his success but I dont think we need to get carried away.

Altrincham is known for nothing nationally, except for the football club.

Our club put the whole town on the map, and we were on the verge of collapsing.

Geoff Goodwin saved the club and therefore the only thing the town is known for.

Mr. Goodwin deserves recogntion for that from the town.

you can shove yer matt busby way where the sun don't shine.

Well said York Alty!

Maybe a walkway or part of the new centre to be built at the "Station Location" to be named after him. How many other people have put Altrincham, as a town on the map?

As Jenga says, a lot of people do many good things with little recognition - a more than fair point - but Geoff Goodwin has been exceptional for the club and, therefore, for the town.

(I should also mention there are so many others who have done the town proud through the club)
