You may well have noticed that Stuart Coburn is now just three more games away from overtaking John Davison as the holder of the record number of appearances for Altrincham FC.
In anticipation of this impending milestone, the club are planning a special commemorative programme in honour of Stuart's achievement and I have volunteered to assist Grahame Rowley with its compilation.
Consequently, I would be delighted to receive your favourite memories of Stuart's career with the Robins with a view to including some of them in the proposed celebratory issue of the Robins Review e.g. reminiscences/recollections about a particular incident, game, save, performance (highs and lows!) or penalty save....and, naturally, that goal at Runcorn.
All anecdotes about the great man are welcome, whether they relate to him either on or off the pitch.
Any photographs of Stuart would be most welcome, too (especially any images of him from those days when he had a full head of hair!).
This is your opportunity to pay tribute both to Stuart's immense contribution to the cause of Altrincham FC and the man himself.
Please email your submissions to me at:
towerofsong@btinternet.com
Alternatively, send them via the Private Message facility on this forum (or even track me down in the main stand at the next home match and hand over your written contribution in person).
Incidentally, I would prefer it if the aforementioned procedures are followed rather than just posting your memories on this thread, thereby enabling an element of surprise to be maintained for when the programme eventually appears (it is currently scheduled for the Wrexham fixture on Saturday, 14th March 2015) .
(Memo to Stuart Coburn: please, don't get sent off in the next two games.....).
Many thanks, in anticipation.
Barry Pikesley.

Trawling through my library as we speak. Er, type.

The one where he scored away from home can't remember where it was :) or when he took me out In supporters vs staff game lol
-
Think it was Runcorn he scored in, but the 0 0 at Cambridge (which I think may have cost them promotion) is my favourite memory of Stu (so far).

To be fair, it's only a matter of time before the original subject of the post is forgotten!
